Got this to protect our new mattress. It was well made with quilted padding and is supposed to be waterproof, haven't had any occasions to test whether it is and hope we never have to : ).

I have a dog who is taking steroids. If you've ever stood and watched a 90-pound dog drink 3/4 of a gallon of water at 9 pm, you know what's about to happen. I quickly rinsed the protector when it arrived in my washer and dried it on low, and put it on. It fit perfectly.I woke up the next morning and went to quickly use the bathroom. I came back to let my dog out of my bedroom in less than two minutes and by then he'd peed on the bed. I pulled back the sheet and the protector and my mattress was 100% dry.It doesn't crinkle, smell weird, washes and dries well (on gentle and low heat) and I recommend it for anyone - you never know when you'll spill something or a child or dog will have an accident. I would have to replace my memory foam mattress if urine soaked down in it, and this is a lot cheaper.
