I needed a shorter dual band antenna for in-town use so I wouldn’t be hitting all the tree limbs with my roof mounted antenna. I gave this a try and was pleasantly surprised. SWR was fine right out of the package and could bring up a UHF repeater 30 miles away full quieting. Very satisfied. I can just put my longer, higher gain antenna on when traveling on the open road.

The gain on this was not very high but I did test it without a ground plane. If I installed it in a proper mount with a ground plane over a metal car fender or cab, then i'm sure the gain would be just fine.

First of all the coax wire and grounding looked like it was assembled by a 7 year old Chinese boy in a sweat shop, half the shielding wasn’t attached to where it was sodard to the antenna base, no signal at all, put my handheld antenna back on and it worked perfectly. I ordered overnight prior to a hunt and now I’m screwed, very disappointed, will be returning.

Can be used to pick up 20+ miles, cable is pretty long. Would recommend for a scanner or Fire Dept Mobile radio.
