This is a direct replacement for the Hyundai factory brake switch. I unplugged the old switch and removed the nut that was holding it on. I pulled out the switch and replaced it with the new one. I tested it and it worked perfectly. No adjustments needed.

Worked perfectly on my 2005 Hyundai Tucson. I was having a problem where my ESP would turn off sometimes. It started gradually, only turning off once every several weeks, but then got so bad that it would turn off just by stomping on the brakes even without the car moving. From doing some research, this switch seemed like the likely culprit, and it's a cheap and easy part to replace. Also, I remembered that years ago Hyundai had a recall for defective brake light switches, so I figured they just have to be replaced every few years.Took about 20 minutes to unplug and unbolt the old one, match up the position of the stop nut on the new one to match the old one, bolt and plug in the new one and voila! ESP and brake lights have been working without any problems for several weeks now. This is easy to replace yourself and beats relying upon the stealership.

The ESC (off) warning light and the Check Engine light came on and stayed on. I have an OBDII tester and it put out a code P0504. Checking on the internet, the most probable cause is the "Brake Switch". It is located up under the dash near the brake pedal arm assembly. Ordered the part with Amazon Prime on a Thursday afternoon, and as they said it was delivered in 2 days on Saturday, and during a snow storm...Incredible. Today I switched out the brake switch (took 5 minutes), erased the code P0504, and both warning icons on the dash are off. Such a simple and inexpensive fix that has quickly removed the frustration I was having. Bravo internet, and Amazon. Now my life is back to normal

Ordered it for my 2008 Hyundai Entourage and it worked perfectly. Took maybe 15 minutes to pull out the old one and replace with this. Did not need to remove any of the dash or paneling anywhere. It was pretty tight, but I was able to do it without dismantling anything else.
