These things are huge, not really sure where the 4" measurement comes from but they are about 2" wide with a 5-6" gap for holding cables.

The edges on this are nice and rounded over. Pulling wires through presented no damage to the sheathing whatsoever. The metal is thick, durable, and not cheesy feeling. I recommend it.
