The first time I used them I saw that it was cracking the ice which I figured would happen but I didn't know if it would pull out. They stayed anchored the entire time on a windy day. Once you start drilling just make sure you stop when you get to the washer on the shaft. This is a great inexpensive little kit. The only thing that I wasn't too crazy about was the Kit really doesn't fold up too well when you have all six anchors in the carry case. So what I do is leave two of The Middle anchors out and then fold it in half. I keep the other two inside a pouch on my ice shelter seat since I use those two the most for my ice shelter ( easier access) the only reason I didn't give it five stars was because it doesn't fold up very well and if it gets tossed around a lot some of the anchors will fall out of the carry case.

Strong, robust anchors. The included drill and impact driver attachments are very helpful in ice or hard ground, and the MOLLE-compatible case is actually pretty decent quality. I've used these on ice and hard, frozen ground for ice fishing tents and winter hot tents. Use with a drill for speed, but they actually go in easily enough by hand. You can insert a stick, tent peg, or other straight object to get more mechanical advantage while turning the anchors. Purchased another set for a second tent, as the first set I bought was excellent.
