Like the other coffee press mugs you might have seen on Amazon, this one can make a great cup of coffee. You put a couple of tablespoons of medium ground coffee in the mug, add hot water and let it steep for about three minutes. Then carefully and slowly press down the inner plunger until it is inserted as far as it will go. Then just put on the lid and you can enjoy great coffee. The only weak area of this press is that the plunger can let the coffee slip past the sealing rings if you press it down too fast. So the key is not to try and press it down too fast, press it slowly. If you do press it too fast, then since there is no secondary seal on the plunger when it is fully depressed, some coffee may leak out obetwen the mug and the plunger. That would make a bit of a. Mess, so don’t make that mistake. Just be sure to press it down slowly. It also comes apart completely for easy cleaning, which is nice. Recommended.

Works well. Main trick is to use coarsely ground coffee and push slowly on the plunger.Feels a bit cheaply made, is not a high quality French press, but gets the job done. Good for travel, unbreakable. Overall, would recommend.

You have to plunge very slowly but that’s with any french press, when you start feeling more resistant than usual just pull out a little bit and the plunger will go down effortlessly, again slowly. The type of micro filter makes it so even espresso grinds don’t get in the main part of the cup, I’m no coffee snob but I like strong coffee and at times I’ve done this with no problem.LeakingMake sure all the gaskets are aligned properly, all 3 of them, my first cup came that way and leaked a lot.Leaking between the plunger and main cup on the top is a quick fix, get silicone bands (like rubber bands but silicone) sold here in Amazon slip one on the top of plunger and will not leak, on top of that you’ll find out a great amount of different uses for the silicone bands, the reason why I already had them handy to experiment with.Is not leak proof if the cup lays sideways thus not a good idea to store with liquid in your purse or backpack, minor issue, the slide opening on the lid can be pull apart for complete and throughly clean. I wouldn’t put it in the dishwasher, nor microwave but that in my opinion is just common sense because is double wall etc.I used to use Zyliss cup but honestly I like this much better, holds more coffee, 16 oz vs 12, doesn’t allow any grinds in the coffee after pressed and the cost $6+ vs $20+. How long it’ll last? Time will tell but at this price I wouldn’t mind if it lasts only a few months since I use it everyday. After those small corrections I have a wonderful cup of coffee every morning weather at home, traveling or camping.

The disk that is supposed to hold the grounds does not stay in place....but not worth returning. Use it for something else like a nice insulated cup....

Love the style of this french press than any other but when drinking I from it it occasionally leaks. Also sometimes even with a small amount of water to brew the coffee, when you put the press in it will overflow and make a huge mess- but not all the time! Works great for just a little coffee maker and pour it into another cup. Would not recommend using it for a coffee tumbler, the spontaneous leaks are unpredictable. Might happen once or every time you take a drink. When pouring into a different cup sometimes it’ll leak other times it won’t. It’s a weird little thing. I use it several times a day, works for the purpose for the most part.

Have bought several for myself, a daughter and a friend. We all love them! The coffee is perfect, as you can make it as strong or weak as you like. The coffee also tastes fresher than electric coffee makers. I haven't used a regular coffee maker since I bought these!

Cup really only works with the mesh insert. Works good for a fresh cup of coffee, but doesn’t transition well into using for other drinks. Bought it to be my camping cup, I ended up adding a second insulted cup for afternoon drinks though
