High quality metal frame. Has sticky spots on top for easy placement then you can install the screws for for permanent attachment. The legs that touch the laptop are covered with soft material.

It took a bit of time to find a mount with a sufficient drop to stack a docking station and battery pack atop my laptop under my desk. This one is perfect!Measurements in description were accurate. The separate bracket design (as opposed to a box-like design) meant I could position the brackets without numbing into the desk leg. The brackets are sturdy metal; wide enough to hold my laptop securely when I move the desk but minimal enough not to block the fan vent. The screws were long enough to be secure without hitting or going through the desktop.A solid product that is what it says it is.
