I didn’t read the description carefully so wasn’t aware that it is one solid piece and not a two piece mounting plate and front cover as typical vinyl siding mounting plates are. This made installing it a little more difficult in my situation of having the wall already sided. If I had found this prior to starting the job it would have went much easier.What I liked about it above the two piece I already had is that this piece is a bit thinner, about an inch wide. The vinyl two piece would have stuck out away from the wall too far, but this looks good sitting up there.I don’t know if it’s considered paintable or not, but I scuffed it up a little bit and color matched it to my siding.

My fixture came with 6mm and 8mm screws, but neither fit. I ended up trying every screw I had in a random pile until something worked, probably creating their own threads in the plastic.This item should have come with instructions or hardware, and it would be 5 stars. As it is, I'd recommend something else if you can find a comparable product.

This item is not as versatile as advertised. Does not work very well on ribbed surfaces like a lot of metal buildings owners have. The pre drilled holes did not match up with any standard light boxes or miscellaneous metal boxes that are supposed to used on a metal building. This caused a lot of rigging which cost money and time. Seller should make this right with the buyer. Please contact me to make this right.

Seems like a decent product but without instructions or any hardware there isn't a way of knowing what size screws to use on this thing.Considering it mounts behind the siding you'd expect information on how best to attach it.Definitely didn't work with any of the screws that came with my floodlight and now I'm missing a screw and one for stripped inside...

Picked up 4 of these when replacing my exterior lights, as the were no proper mounting blocks before. Easy to install, and they look great.
