It isn't often I write a review for anything I buy, since most things I buy are what they are. Every once in a while though, I come across something I purchase and it really goes beyond the pale in exceeding my expectations.These little strainer "socks" take the cake in working really well. I have no idea what the micron level is, all I can say it is really small.This isn't just effective at protecting my filter and pump from large items, it gets EVERYTHING. I mean everything. It literally cleared a somewhat cloudy pool all on it's own. It doesn't restrict flow at all until it gets really dirty. Then I just take it out, hand rinse it under the garden hose, and put it back in. It even works well with my automatic vacuum, so well in fact, it prevents me from having to clean the strainer all the time. It gets dirty, I don't have to pull the strainer, I just rinse the sock.

Had to work late a lot this week and was really scared to check in on the pool (filters on a timer) we get tons of cottonwoods and thrips right around this time every year and I'd say it works pretty great. Worth the purchase.

These cleared the smallest of particles. My only complaint is the almost worked to good and caused the pump to slow down because the sock was blocked by all of the tiny particles.

We have an inground pool and it has a retaining wall around three sides of it. Opening the pool is a chore cause it's always got a lot of dirt in it. These help so much to get all the fines out of the pool. Last year I ran these about half of the season. This year I used them for the majority. I think these help tremendously with keeping things out of your pump basket and keeping your main filter cleaner. I have a normal sand filter and I've only had to backwash once this season. In the past I'll backwash three or four times after the initial opening. It's basically a pre-filter for your pump and main filter. You might have stuff get in through you main drain but the skimmer will catch most of your debris. It's a little more of pain to keep them clean or get them clean and they might last a couple of weeks but I've used one for about a month with just a few small holes. Changing them every couple of weeks is probably ideal depending on your set up. Great for getting and keeping your pool clean.

I love my pool socks. Saves your filters by removing or catching all the stuff the skimmer basket holes lets pass through. Fine grass clippings, bugs. If it floats on the surface of your pool, its getting sucked into your skimmer and filters. The larger size makes these so much easier to put on the basket. Easy to rinse out and re-use. We typically get a few months out of each sock. However, now that we can purchase these on Amazon at such a great price, I don't mind tossing one out when the basket is really full after a wind storm has everything in the neighborhood in my pool! I even put one in the basket on the "squidy" that runs around the pool. I think the container is technically a leaf catcher basket. Don't hesitate to use these.

I bought mine to go in an above ground skimmer. I have a pretty good size sand filter. It blocked too much water so I lost suction. Unfortunately these did not work for me.

We’ve been using these for our in ground pool for years, they catch all the small things floating on the top. We like ve in FL and get really bad pine pollen floating on the top of our water and it it even skims that. These say so much time in skimming your pool.
