easy to use, reasonably priced and long lasting. i have been using these labels for over 10 years and keep reordering every couple of years a couple. more boxes. i find them better than most labels and i have researched, used and reviewed many. I am avid gardener and plant collector and like to know the names of my rosebushes collections, or Japanese Maples or various plants i buy over the years. i find that i either attach them to a stem when a tree is youn=g or branches subsequently as the plant matures over the years. for perennials such as Dahlias or peon ies, i use them with a bamboo stake put in the ground next to the plant... just writing with a pencil or even an old ballpoint with or without ink is immaterial as you pressure write. i use both sides to write information such as latin name, and reverse for nursery and year purchased, for example. Years later when i come across a label that is too low or the stem has grown more, i just unfurl the wire and refasten around a smaller branch. i have labels that are easily 5+years old and still perfectly readable... the plus is having labels at eye level on tall shrubs and trees, roses that are easily identifiable etc... and when you weed, a rake mulches you do not erroneously pull up the stake into the ground labels as these are fastened around the main part of a stem or large branch...

While it is a quality product, it did not work out for me.Currently, I use thermal printed labels and place them on acrylic tags for tagging my plants. This works well for me. The labels strongly adhere to the acrylic and the acrylic tags are stiff and strong. But the acrylic tags are expensive. So, I went looking for a less expensive tag. I purchased these aluminum tags. I tried both styles of tape (black on clear, black on white). While the tape does adhere to the aluminum tag, it is not a strong bond and is easily removed. Therefore, I don’t think thermal tape on aluminum tags will hold up to year round, outdoor weather. I gave it five stars because for its original intent, it works great. So why don’t I just had engrave my text directly onto the tag? As you can see in the two photos, my text consists of more than the common name of the plant.

I cannot imagine any change to this product that would make it better performance wise. Very well made and consistent from piece to piece. If you are looking for good stuff that will not disappoint add these to your cart now and move on to your next item.Super easy to write on/emboss with a slightly dull pencil for an easy to read plant ID. Wire ties of good quality and large enough to accommodate a wide range of usesAlso able to write on both sides of the tags without telegraphing. I bought these for an apple grafting project. I wrote the scion variety on one side of the tag and the root stock variety on the other.Packaging excellent too. Am able to use the original packaging to keep the extras organized and safe until I need them again. These were one of the very few products I have purchased recently that surprised me by being everything they promised - and then some. I'd recommend them to a friend and to anyone else as well!

I used to get these from an online nursery; very useful when grafting my own fruit trees. Once that company was sold, the new owners ceased providing this. Am so glad to find a source. Just like before: easy to use & keep indefinitely.

These are really easy to write on with a stylus or a ballpoint pen. I have used a different brand purchased at a plant nursery and these are much better!

I used these to identify camellias I have in my garden. Also to label seedling magnolias that can take 10 years to bloom. Best to use a sturdy ball point pen and press hard making large block letters. Place on side branches only. Tie with large open loop to let plants to grow. Check on every few years. Labeling front and back of label guarantees years of legibility. Can't find anything out there this tough outside of professional copper stamped tag. Affordable too!

Ordered 100 labels, received 50. No option to return the product since I needed the labels right away. Will consider other retail sources in the future.
