I bought this 1/4" air ratchet so I didn't have to borrow my bosses one at the shop anymore. He has a snap on model that's about ten years old and it really is a nice ratchet. I was looking for something that would last, be small enough for what I needed and be relatively quiet. After a week of using my new ratchet I can say that it not only blows my bosses out of the water but also all of my expectations. Between my boss and co-worker they have 35 years of technician experience and even both of them were raving about this thing. The overall feel is perfect. My favorite part about it is the quietness of it. It's about half the noise of a normal 3/8" air ratchet and has no high pitch scream.Pros:Plenty of torqueGreat trigger feelRidiculously quietSolid constructionFast free run speedSmall sizePriceCons:Not much, the only thing that would make it better for me would be a button style trigger for really tight spaces but that's not a big deal.

Replaced a 30 year old worn out sears craftsman . This is much quieter, with good torque and small handy size. A great choice for the pro or serious amateur! Love it! Have had both this size and larger in the past. The larger ratchets have more torque but are too unwieldy to use in tight places. I usually bust stubborn nuts manually then spin them. This is perfect for that application!

This thing is great! Im just a DIY mechanic, but sometimes it feels like im running a shop with all of my friends cars coming in and out of my garage. This air ratchet is one of the best tool purchases I've made in a long time.Small(ish) head- fits in tight places, granted it not as small as a regular mechanical ratchet, but its great for those places where you can only get a click or 2 on the ratchet.Plenty of power- this thing will break loose anything that you would typically put a 1/4" drive onLow air consumption- i have a 3 gallon, portable, 200psi, 5 cfm, contractor style air compressor, and it keeps up with this thing just fine, even with continuous use.direction selector- im pretty picky about my regular ratchets, specifically the direction selector, and i couldnt be happier with this one, you can visually tell which direction it is set to. also, its pretty much impossible to switch it accidentally.no safety stop- as odd as it may sound, not having any kind of safety stop on the trigger is nice, makes it easier to operate this tool.i also own the matching 3/8" drive version, and could write the same review for it, only adding that it has about double the power of this one

Very light, slim, smooth and strong. Exceptionally quiet compared to my last cheap air ratched. The only thing holding it back from 5 stars is an annoying trigger jump I notice. As you slowly sqeeze the trigger, it seems like a small pocket of air rushes thru, turning the head one full blast blip, before you squeeze hard enough to start any slow head movement. In day to day work where you grab and go I hardly notice it, but when i'm trying to veeery slowly spin the head, that blip becomes annoying. Possible bad design, or I may just have a defective one. But the pros outway the cons, and i'm loving it

I purchased two ratchets, a 1/4†and 3/8†drive to replace some harbor freight ratchets that my kids bought me for Christmas. Needless to say the harbor freight tools didn’t last. First off there is a big difference in build quality. These tools look professional. The pneumatic drive is much smoother and both ratchets have more torque than what I was previously using. I have a side business working on cars and both ratchets get used a lot. So far no issues and I expect that I will have them for a long time.

I prefer metal air tools. That being said, impact wrenches are great that are made from composite. What ever material you choose, it is all good! My favorite brand names for air tools are AirCat and Ingersol Rand. This Ingersol Rand air ratchet is awesome. I am a HONDA ACURA TOYOTA LEXUS Factory Trained Master Mechanic, and air tools are a must.

This is a strong ratchet with the right amount of heft to it. Another strong Ingersoll-Rand product and it was priced nicely here.

Powerful and compact.. Will snap off or strip out small fasteners it you don't feather the throttle.. This small ratchet is not unlike other pneumatic tools that require maintenance.. For those who have stated the head loosens, this is actually common with most IR ratchets when they are put under a heavy strain.. Armstrong tools adjustable pin spanner wrench 34-354 is what you need to tighten the collar and stop the head from rotating.. Remember, scheduled maintenance requires the ratchet head and the planitary gear drive, under the collar, to be greased for long life.. After years of daily use the only fault has been the snap that holds in the head can release. I just reassemble the head, replace the snap ring and keep going. I gave it to my apprentice to use since I bought the same new for myself.

I'm very happy with the purchase. Work as tech and use it on regular basis. Great and reliable tool. Fast enough speed, quiet operation, great for small nut and bolts. Small size and great for tight spots.Would recommend, if you looking for this kind of a tool.

I purchased the extended length air ratchet, instead of the stubby as it works better in tight areas.Has all the power you need for a 1/4â€Air ratchet.I read some reviews saying it wasn’t powerful enough….it’s a 1/4†air ratchet!!! What do you expect? It’s for small bolts and nuts!I am more than satisfied with it’s speed and power!
