I have both a Cloudlifter and a Fethead, but I wanted to add a mic activator to one more microphone without great expense (this one's a budget mic, cheaper than a Cloudlifter or Fethead), and this activator has been a great solution so far. I don't hear any real difference between what this does, and what the Fethead and Cloudlifter do, and this one sells for a fraction of the cost of the others. I have already ordered another, as a spare for some future dynamic mic in the 4th input on my interface.

I purchased the Cloudlifter CL-1 as a means to add gain to my SHure SM7B microphone. However, when I used it, it had a lot of buzzing in the headphones. So I decided to try a different option. Which just so happened to be the cheapest. I tested both back to back and I would have to say this preamp worked better, had less/no buzz or noise and only needs 1 XLR cable as opposed to 2 with the CL-1. I was shocked that a $30 some dollar preamp performed better than a $150 CL-1. So far I am blown away!

At about half the retail price of the Cloudlifter, this product, after about 2 weeks of use, does the trick. I've used cloudlifters before but when I got a new dynamic microphone for podcasting, I needed the extra gain but the cloudlifter wasn't in my short term budget so I rolled the dice on this. Thus far, it has exceeded expectations. I don't have a cloudlifter to do a A/B comparison but it's working well thus far.

We added a female guitarist/vocalist to our band. She has the voice of an angel, but it isn't very powerful. The pre amp uses phantom power and the clean gain works well to enhance her voice. I bought 2 as I always like a back up.

Hace su trabajo. Al inicio cuando lo empecé a usar me decÃan que se escuchaba un ruido, pero aparentemente era algo externo en el ambiente.Luego se hicieron los ajustes necesarios y ahora me dicen que se escucha para grabar un potcast jejejeje.Buen productoActualización 22/7/2024Luego 1 año y medio de usarlo he estado presentando problemas, de repente se deja de escuchar el micrófono y luego inicia nuevamente su función. He estado revisando y aparentemente es este aparatito el que está dando problemas, lo peor de todo es que me ha ocurrido en unos live y tengo que estar haciendo mil malabares para que vuelvan a escuchar la voz. Pensé que durarÃa más tiempo.

Most of my studio is cheap, but functional. This does the trick of amping up the volume on an SM57 into a basic interface for recording. No frills, cheap, works. Get it.

very noisy static/ popping makes it impossible to get a good amount of gain... will be returning and getting something of better quality. u get what u pay for i guess, dont waste your money and time on garbage.

La verdad es la primera vez que tengo un dispositivo de estos pero me funciona súper bien, la estoy trabajando con un interfaz de Arturia minifuse y con un micrófono shure SM7B, realmente se nota el cambio y me arroja una salida muy limpia

I am currently using an m-track solo and in order for me to use my microphone comfortably my input gain needed to be set to max. With the Manayo my gain sits comfortably around 3 o'clock on the interface. I expected a larger increase in volume but even so I feel like it gets the job done.
