My inner tie rod on my ‘97 4Runner was stuck on good.. it sat for a while and while it has a solid frame, there is lots of surface rust and that makes it rough to work on.. (it’s an East Coast car, so that’s typical)This tool had my inner tie rod off in about 5 minutes with me setting it up, paying mind not to excessively tighten, and getting my 20” 3/8 breaker bar and cheater bar, and POP! I don’t have any problems, yet, I still am yet to do the other side for my own reasons but this saved me from going to a shop and spending hundreds for installation labor. It’s a great tool and I’m happy to buy another even if it gets stripped like others mentioned.

The tool is simple to use and works great. It comes in handy for vehicles with limited clearance near the tie rods.

While trying to remove my damaged inner tie rod off my 2021 Nissan Sentra, I first tried rental the master inner tie rod tool (long rod like pipe with adapters at end) from my local Autozone and O’reilly auto store…both tools failed as the adapter and rod would expand while turning resulting in stripping of the inner tie rod. To be honest, those tools may work when less torque is needed, but for more difficult jobs, they are a waste. This small tool amazed me as it removed my damaged inner tie rod. I had to use an extension with a pry bar to remove and worked! Saved me a trip to a auto shop and/or dealer!Thank you!

Used it to change out a tie rod on a Ford Focus. Work really well, easy to use and great quality.

I use this in a professional setting. Inner tie rods are not generally that tight so no need to over tighten the nuts or wrench the tie rod back on. A little blue loctite and hammer over the locking tabs and it will say put.The part itself has worked out great. I use it almost daily. Its way more study then professional tube style tie rod removing tool sets. Less of a hassle then a large pair of channel locks.

If you plan on doing inner tie rods. It'll work, it'll work well, but now that I've done both sides, the nuts are kind of beat up. It definitely torqued down, clamped pretty hard, you need this to turn those. Maybe the hardware store, you can get new nuts, but the threads are not perfect either. It's good for the one or two jobs. This is not grade 6 or 8 . It's OK ! Worked.
