Soft Brick with Porous Structure

With an excellent balance of low density and homogeneous porosity, our Insulating Fire Bricks are a great insulator that's also lightweight. Each one is made of refractory ceramic material—a blend of alumina, silica, and some calcium oxide. It is asbestos-free

Withstands High Temperatures

Our IFB insulating refractory bricks are rated for high-temperature uses. The lightweight fire brick application is broad, mainly as an insulator in industrial and hobby kilns, forges, furnaces heated by electric spiral elements, or gas burners for hot face lining or outer heat insulation.

Excellent for small or large construction sites, repairs and maintenance, refractory services, and even for personal hobbies such as jewelry soldering or casting.

Insulating Fire Brick Applications

Soldering surface for jewelry: You can easily solder jewelry on this fire brick. You may drill little holes in the brick to keep your jewelry in place while soldering. The fire brick allows you to solder more quickly and efficiently because you can concentrate the heat where you want it.

PMC+ and PMC3 Metal Clay Firing: Jewelry makers can use this fire brick as a safe surface for firing metal clay with a butane torch.

Kiln for Pottery Making: Great for building larger kilns for pottery makers. If you have a missing or defective kiln brick, you found an excellent replacement brick to fix your oven.

Build a Mini Forge: Ideal for building a mini forge for knife making.

These bricks are absolutely perfect for electric furnaces. The inside temperature of my furnace was around 800 degrees Fahrenheit while the outside was around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. When placed right these bricks out perform standard fireplace bricks. From experience with these kind of bricks, they can be glowing orange on one side and be in your hand on the other side.

When ordering firebricks the biggest concern is how many will arrive intact. These came packaged with care in custom packaging. I’m not sure how well they perform yet, but I think they’ll do just fine. Good supplier, will consider ordering more in the future.

Worked well to elevate my forge and cover one end to retain the heat.

Liked for forge. Need to be gentle, until cemented together. Not like red brick at all ! Cutting them, make SURE u wear a mask ! Very dusty, unless you possess a wet saw.

I ordered the medium weight brick as I thought it would fare better in shipping. The bricks were well packed and only had slight damage to some outside corners. The brick is easy to cut and work with regular woodworking tools.

First off I gave these 1 Star for “Light Weight” because they are Fire Bricks which are heavy & should be heavy! They are nicely marked but they are costly. They arrived quickly & were packed very well!

Mostly intact with a few busted corners and lots of dust in the bubble wrap. After reading the cancer warning sign about the dust it made me a little worried about getting it all cleaned up safely.Be aware that these bricks are very soft. They are going to crumble and the corners after almost certainly going to break in shipping. While mine were very well wrapped they still lost a few corners. Just accept that before you buy them.

We received these back in June but haven't written a review as we've just been so busy. But each brick was broken when we received them. They were unusable. Complete junk.
