How it work
When one of the motion sensors is triggered, the stair lights will light up step by step. After the set time has passed, the stair lights will turn off step by step. The controller program also allows you to set the number of steps, speed, brightness, delay time, etc.

These stair lights are terrific. A game changer for my dark stairway to/from my 2nd floor. Installation was easy. Took an about 2 hours for me. Skills required are basic for anyone handy with basic DIY work (you’ll need Phillips head screw driver, a drill with a 1/4†bit and, depending on the sensor mounting choice, a 13/16†spade bit (a 3/4†will work with some rocking to get the hole slightly larger)). You’ll also need access to the underside of your stairs for the wiring. Watch the helpful videos on Amazon for installation and configuration. I got the version with the “tape†LED lights. These have the lowest profile and can be cut to the required length (pretty much anything up to 40â€). I have wood steps, so mounting with adhesive was not an issue, but the fixed length light bar models might be a better option if adhesive mounting won’t work (i.e., carpet on stair treads).

This is so neat - EVERYone who sees it want to know how to do it! It was easy to install, and has worked flawlessly ever since. Motion sensors both work well, and setting it up so the lights cascade up or down depending on which sensor is tripped just delights people

I've been looking at various stair lighting options and wanted something that had a motion-sensing feature. My initial plan was to install GU10 fixtures along the wall and use GU10 smart bulbs connected to a wireless motion sensor. However, this idea did not work as desired, as the smart bulbs would randomly reset and require repairing. I also had intermittent issues with the motion sensor connectivity, so it was back to the drawing board.This set of stair lights seemed a much better choice, given the LED strip lights, controller and motion sensors are all integrated (and wired). Most of the kit is plug-and-play, so installation is reasonably straightforward. I'm not confident with mains electricity, so an electrician connected the power supply. The LED strips come with 3m tape to stick on, but out of the many LED strips I have installed, all have come unstuck at some point. I now use an aluminium profile for LED tape as it's guaranteed to stay in place and looks much better. In this case, I have also carved out a channel within each step overhang so the profile slots neatly inside. It looks great.The system has so far worked well. My stairs look fantastic, and it's always great to wow my guests with them. The cascading effect looks amazing and works in both directions.Highly recommended!
