I found that my plug in night light was being blocked by my couch so I needed ones without a plug. This set is battery operated, however it does not include the 3 AA batteries. It wasn't clear how to open the back cover, but I figured it out. (You slide the cover in one direction) Since the instructions warned that the adhesive pad could not be removed, I chose not to use it and used 3M command strips instead. That was easy to attach the light where I wanted.The light turns on when it gets dark and when someone walks in front of it. This saves on the battery power rather than having it on all the time. It's nice that the light has a brighter and dimmer setting - I only needed the dimmer one. It's bright enough to provide a bit of light in my dark living room and my hallway. The price is a bit high for a battery operated unit, so wait for a discount or coupon.

Neither one worked. Couldn't believe both of them didn't work. Put brand new batteries in. Turned on, covered the sensor, nothing. With that kind of quality, decided not to ask for a replacement. I'll order a different brand. They were much smaller than I thought they would be as well.

The sensor light works well. I'm taking two stars off, one the doulble sided tape is not good enough to support the weight of the unit with batteries, fell down the stairs now it deos not work, two rechargeable AA batteries of 3 different brands did not fit without a struggle they are a bit thicker than regular alkalines. I am buying two more for the basement and will use regular AA's in them for the basement as battery life shouldn"t be much of an issue being that they won't be triggered as much.

I love that these are battery operated and you don't need to plug them in.I have these going up our stairs for when the kids forget to turn on the light. No more of them wiping out on the stairs.These are not too bright nor too dark. They give off enough light for you to see the stairs.

I really like this device because of its simplicity. It’s basically plug and play. The only draw back for me was to try and find a good place to put it. It comes with double sided tape which conveniently allows you to put it on the wall. Or you can opt to use two screws which are included if you so desire. When you walk past it in a dark room it comes on instantly for twenty seconds, then shuts off, unless you stay in front of it moving around. There is a high or low light switch which allows you to control the brightness. The light is soft not glaring. It takes 3 AA batteries which aren’t included. Also you get 2 devices in the box. I like it and haven’t had any problems with it so far. I highly recommend.
