I ordered one of these and used it for a year before the screw part separated from the handle. I ordered another identical one, and that lasted a year too before it failed in the same way. This model corkscrew is slightly more pleasant to use than some others of a similar type. At least they are inexpensive, so I don't feel too bad at having to replace them. But after two failures, I probably won't order this model again.

This is over built in a good way - very very solid. I've had it for a year, I think, it doesn't look like it's going anywhere! My old one in this style (but not brand) broke and it had obviously lighter construction.

Not high quality, but does the job for a while. Had an identical one (except it was branded Oneida) that skipped a gear while extracting corks, I am sure this one will eventually do the same as I can already feel the gears poorly meshing tolerance. The screw mechanism is particularly poor in design, no doubt it will pull out of difficult corks. I have yet to find an infallible cork screw at any price.
