EDIT: I updated this review due to the excellent customer service of this company. There is a 12 month product warranty and they sent a replacement. You should still be cautious when changing the battery as the interior of this product is delicate.This loupe works well to see details on small photos; however, this is the second one I've purchased as the first broke when trying to change the batteries. I chalked it up to user error and purchased another one. This one just ran out of juice and changing the batteries is nearly impossible. When you can finally get a tool down in there to get the old button batteries out, the inner circle holding all the interior comes apart and pops out. This leaves wires and inner components exposed and unable to easily put back together. The good news is that I purchased in August and used often and the batteries lasted until January, but not a great tool for longevity use.

I use this for fiber optic work to check my ribbons as I am making them and occasionally while splicing.I was previously using like a Jewlers 3-1 but this is perfect. Bought one to put in each of the ribbon splicers as well as one in each ribbonizing tool.Anyone doing fiber optic work I highly recommend. My only knock would be the on/off button. I wish it were a switch to avoid it accidentally being turned on which has happened once already. Fortunately it comes with a spare set of batteries so I am good to go for a while since I have like 3 more spare sets.Replacing the batteries was also quite simple just twist off the top, remove the lens then slide the batteries out and voila good to go again.

Overall, a nice magnifier. That is, save for the teeny tiny batteries for the light. They are so small, so they won't last long. I don't bother using the light, but instead use side lighting. The unit is light and easy to grasp, and has a nice scale to check dimensions. The optics are pretty clear, which is welcome. Glad I bought this. I have used it often to spot check things.

Nice loupe! I want it for machining. I set it up to see small tooling. I do not need to have my eye right on the loupe. I can find a position to look through the loupe from 8-10†away and see whats going on. Works good.For normal use it works good! The inch & metric scales are nice a crisp.My attached phot suffers from some clouding due to blowing dust off with my breath. Hence it’s a little foggier than it should be.However, it gives you a good look at the light and magnification.Great value for the money!

Magnification is great, and the lights are super bright when they work. The battery connection is super loose and one wrong shake will dislodge them.

The instructions it comes with are terrible. It came with three tiny batteries, so I assumed I needed to put them in. I struggled getting the top part off. Then had no idea how to access the batteries. It was also really hard to pull the plastic battery tab out. Once I did that, I saw the batteries were installed already and they had sent extra. I still had no idea how I would access the batteries, but just saw the detailed instructions here. So keep that in mind for the future. Great little device.

What a piece of junk. The plastic tab to remove to connect the battery will NOT come out! Plus the area to change the battery will not open. I spent an hour trying to remove the tab and the area to replace the battery. Amazon WILL NOT send me a replacement without returning A MEASLY $11 item and will not send me another! I need this immediately for my job. I will make decisions about my future orders with Amazon. My gosh you’d think I had an expensive item! It’s complete junk!!! This cheap and defective item will get thrown in the trash upon its return anyway and is unless to anyone. What a waste of my time and esp my money!!!!

The Loupe is easy to use on relatively "flat" jewelry" where the markings are easy to find. On some jewelry, where the markings are VERY SMALL and hard to locate, this Loupe may not be able to get close enough to facilitate data capture. In addition to inspecting jewelry, I will probably also use this Loupe in the performance of maintaining the rolling stock and track work on my model railroad.
