I didn't know what to expect from a $12 (as I write this) jeweler's loupe, but it works well enough for me! I'm not sure how accurate the "30X magnification" claim is as it seems off, but once I figured out how to use this, I was able to get a nice close-up view of my knife edges, which is the main reason why I purchased it. I'm refining my knife sharpening technique and being able to see scratch patterns, micro-chips, sharpening errors, etc has been a game changer.The only nag is the light seems to have a bit of a faulty connection because sometimes it will flicker. Usually shutting it off/on again seems to resolve it.

I had bought 2 of them one of them lights up but the other one doesn't. The clarity on both of them are good. I was looking forward in putting both of them to uses. But was disappointed that right from the start one didn't work.
