I'm a professional bassoonist that's been playing for more than three decades. These neoprene seat straps are fundamentally flawed.First and foremost, the cup frequently impedes the free movement of the two keypads on the bottom of the bassoon. As a result, you try to play a G-sharp or G, and something different frequently sounds.Second, neoprene is a terrible material for a seat strap. It flexes way too much, making the instrument unstable and unnecessarily difficult to play.I groan whenever any of my students bring one of these in. Do yourself a favor and get a something better. You'll save yourself the time you'll need to return this facsimile of a real seat strap.

This seat strap works really well. I have a padded metal chair at home we use for practice and the strap has a nice grip to it. I’ve seen where others have concerns over the boot and interfering keys but its not been a real issue for me. I’ve added some cloth in the cup just to help shallow the depth for mine.
