Darn straps were just worn out, worried about damaging the electrical wires inside. Figured this task could be a chore, but with these zippered straps, the job was easy! Remove 2 torx screws, slip the strap off the hook, pull the old strap out of the door, and carefully cut off the old strap with a reasonably sharp scissors. New strap slips right on, zip it up, reattached the clamp and tuck the strap into the door. Easy-peasy!

As per other people making comments about them being a little short, they are but after you let the door hang open a few hundred times they will start to stretch out and will be ok after that.

I was unable to use this. Service at the dealership disengaged the electronic part on my Jeep Wrangler door so that door could open wide but said they would need to have a longer bar as well which they do not sell or know where to source so the strap alone does not work.
