This unit replaced the failed electric choke of another brand that I installed years ago. Works perfectly, but no instructions with it. When you install it, you need to adjust the new choke to your carburetor anyway. I did a 2 phase install. First install it such that the new unit holds the choke closed when the engine is cold. Cranked up fine, did minor carb adjustments.BUT...next day I fine tuned the choke adjustment (again) to make it retract quicker, i.e. lean out the choke to the point where it barely closes the choke on a cold engine, and drops the fast idle quicker. Turns out that the 44-year-old 76 Chevy C10 quadrajet (which has never been off the engine) had a choke fast idle cam that was sticky, so I loaded the cam pivots with WD-40. Now the cold cranking and transition to normal idle works as new. My Dad bought this truck new.The vacuum unloader was working correctly, so I didn't mess with it.

After shopping at auto part stores for a choke thermostat for my off-road 4x4 the selection was unclear and $65 dollars. The Jet thermostat I purchased on Amazon fits and works very well. After installation I adjusted the thermostat and the choke vacuum break and the next morning the truck started and performed well. After a couple of weeks no problems. Glad I found this one!

I have replaced this choke three times this year, each choke worked for a few times and would no longer open all the way.Plus the Jet company is unresponsive to questions. At this point, I will be installing a mechanical choke

Excellent and easy install for an 84 Trans-Am. It comes with a wire, no need to buy another even though Amazon says they're frequently bought together.

In my photo you can see the new unit next to my old defective one. Note the old one has a notch which fits over a protrusion in the carburetor housing when installed. Because the JET choke lacks the notch, the unit does not seat flush. I haven't decided yet if I'll grind the protrusion away, or look for an OEM replacement. Still a good price and I haven't read that any other reviewers had this problem.
