You know, after about a year of shopping these type belt grinders, I decided on this Jet. And I am VERY glad I did..After very careful examination, only the Jet offered EXACTLY what I wanted, so last week I ordered it.Yes, it was last Thursday morning that I order it online from Amazon....in very short time the same day Amazon sends me an email saying grinder has already shipped and would be delivered to my shop by lift gate truck on March 15th, and all for free.But what REALLY surprised me was when the very next afternoon my local freight yard called and asked if I would be around to receive it on Monday(eight days early).Wow, that was impossible. I had ordered it on Thursday morning and it was already in my town less than 30 hours later....And this item is a very large and heavy piece of machinery, not a little item....Yup it shipped about two hours after my online order and arrived about a day later....WOW....and all for total free.I was in hurry to get it so I called the freight line back and told them to hold it and I would fetch it early in morning and did just that. At the freight terminal I was VERY impressed with how it was crated...It was fully enclosed in thick quality plywood box without a single scratch or dent on it.I got it home and hoisted it off truck and then discovered how easily it was to uncrate....After lifting the crate off, I saw a tightly wrapped completely assembled machine sealed up completely in waterproof thick clear plastic...Ten minutes later it is in my shop where I begin to closely examine it...It is a VERY well made industrial grinder....A serious machine...All very high quality materials and fit and finish...Inside crate I discover a box that contained 4, yes 4 alum/zirc grinding belts...That was really nice of Jet to include 4 very high quality belts.It was today that I had time to wire correct 240V 50 amp plug to it and fire it up(nema 6-50P)....WOW, that thing spins up to VERY high speed and sounds like a Jet engine...And it runs so smoothly I can stand a nickle on it....I was VERY pleased with how heavy duty, and mostly how it offered the largest belt grinding surface and highest by far HP and belt speed of it's much more expensive competition....I took the starter contactor box apart and discovered very high quality components and wiring.The complete machine is VERY well designed and constructed....All is very high quality, and all fasteners are USA Sema, not millimeters.I spun it up and shoved a 3/8" X 4" piece of steel against the wheel and it turned it instantly into a huge plume of fiery sparks and dust..It didn't even grunt and simply ate that big piece of steel like a melting candy bar....Yeah folks this grinder is EXACTLY what I was looking for....EXACTLY.Today, almost a year after purchasing the grinder, it developed a serious problem. When I pushed the start button, it threw large arcs and sparks from the motor junction box! WOW! So I called Jet customer service and they instructed me to remove the box cover and examine the two large capacitors. SURE NUFF, the capacitors had blown/melted holes in them.No problem, Jet Tools instantly decided to ship me new capacitors free and they were in stock. The capacitors are very easy to replace and will arrive in a few days.Jet warranty is GREAT, and they are Very helpful and knowledgeable !!!

OMG! Where has this been all my life! Arrived in crated with no damage. Place the plug on the cord, Installed the belt. Inspected everything then powered it up. Smooth. This ginds some metal. Great product.

Now this is a grinder! I have used several belt sanders for metal working, all of which would slow down when you pushed hard. But this one doesn't stop, it just keeps eating the metal. Wear gloves, you'll need them.

Absolutely the best value on the market. Yeah it is Chinese made, but it is made well. There are TONS of kinds similar to this, but usually at a higher cost. Jet has a decent reputation. It grinds metal so fast, I bet it saves me 75-80% time off of normal hand grinding. You can grind very long items because the entire top flips open. I would highly recommend.

This thing will disintegrate metal.Best grinder on the market.
