Using this to mount a microphone above my Sony AXP-55 camcorder. Works great in lifting up the microphone away from the camera body to allow space for the fingers. Very sturdy, excellent for purpose but a tad expensive.

Looked for an aftermarket cold-shoe adapter for my Sony FDR-AX100 and there didn't seem to be a clear winner so since this one seemed to have the best reviews I went for it. When the cold-shoe was inserted in the cam's hot shoe for the first time it was a very snug fit, even without the locking nut tightened up, and for this I couldn't be happier about. With the locking nut tightened up the JJC cold-shoe is rock-solid snug and feels like it was a factory-installed part of the cam.The cold-shoe is being used for either a Røde Stereo VideoMic or a Comer CM-LBPS1800 LED light. With the Røde mic, the mic sits on top of the cam high enough so that the fuzzy windscreen hairs don't protrude down into the view area and that is a real plus. Another plusis that both the Røde mic and the Comer light fit very snuggly into the cold-shoe and that both the mic/cold-shoe and the Comer/cold-shoe combination are rock-solid on the cam and the whole assembly feels very secure. My lavalier receiver is much lighter than either of the mic or the light so it would be no problem.I have not tested the combinations under use to see if the cold-shoe locking nut becomes loose over time, but based on the fact it fits so snuggly in the cam’s hot shoe as-is, it is far less likely to loosen because there is no wiggle motion, and if it did, it would take a long time.The pictures are with the AX100 mounted on a JuicedLink CX211 preamp for the XLR inputs and very low noise audio.Bottom line: This is a perfect kit addition and I’m giving this JJC cold-shoe five stars with accolades and no reservations.

I bought this to adapt my Sony A77 (2012, old Minolta-type hot shoe) to accept the new Multi-interface Shoe (MIS) accessories. Despite claiming compatibility with my a77, this does not work. Thinking I'd return this for one that did work, I learned that THIS ITEM NOT REFUNDABLE.

Works fine on my Sony CX-430V Camcorder. I got it so I could mount a standard hot shoe mount microphone on the camera. My camera has the proprietary Sony hot shoe which is NOT standard. Keep in mind that this adapter is a "Cold" shoe, which means there are no electronic connections made with it. The adapter worked perfectly, and fit the Sony mount fine and allowed me to use a device that had the standard shoe mount.

Description, etc. not clear enough. Was looking for an adapter that would make the virtually useless sub-surface hot shoe on my Sony camcorder able to hold a microphone or LED light source. Only after this thing arrived did I realize that there are 2 sizes of useless Sony hot shoes. Of course, I bought the wrong one. Since it's not very expensive, it's not worth the postage and effort to send it back. It looks like it is reasonably well made for those that might be looking for this larger version.

This adapter works well with the Sony AX100. I'd purchased another 3rd part cold shoe adapter - the wheel on that one was right above the contact plate, practically flush with the camera body, so difficult to tighten/release. This one's high enough that it's easy to operate, which is why I bought it. Also tightens better than the previous one so is more secure on the camera.

I use my camera about once a week and this broke after 4 months. Worked well at first but now it's stripped, won't turn either direction.

J'ai le handycam Sony XDR CX625. J'ai acheté le Rode videoMic pro. Quelle surprise lorsque j'ai voulu l'installer : le système Sony n'est pas standard donc impossible d'accrocher le micro. J'ai du commande un adaptateur.L'adaptateur est très simple à installer et correspond parfaitement à la griffe d'accroche sur le dessus de la caméra. C'est parfait. Pour la solidité on verra dans le temps mais à priori ça à l'air pas mal du tout.
