I bought a macaroni like, plastic tubes jump rope first, probably because it was cheapest and what I knew as a kid. I got this "speed" rope 2nd and find it much easier to use as I am relearning to jump rope. I'm also pretty out of shape -- only a little overweight but a sedentary desk work-life. I'm finding jumping with fewer trips easier with this rope. Could be just what works for me, but it's my experience. Handles are comfortable. Length is adjustable. Moves through the air more easily than a true rope jumprope I had a number of years ago. Can't compare it to "many" other ropes, just the one macaroni rope and one rope-rope, but I like this speed, cable rope best.

I took Wirecutter's pick and tried it myself and was surprised how well this jump rope is because of the cheap price tag. This jump rope is very versatile and durable. It's hard to find any fault in it as it's been pounded on concrete for over 6 months and counting now and still holds up. For the price and how well it performs, it's an easy recommendation. I'm sure they're other jump ropes better, but with this price tag and how easily it can adjust, it's hard to overlook especially when first starting out to jump rope or you just jump rope casually. My only gripe with it is that you WILL have to adjust the rope when you get it because it is unrealistically long, but you can either cut the excess rope or what I did was just fold up the excess rope and tuck it inside the handles.

This jump rope is pretty decent for what it cost. The rope itself is almost 10' long out of the box and made with a vinyl covering over woven nylon material. I'm over 6' and had to shorten it well over a foot, but it's very easy to do. The handles are about 5" long, which is a little shorter than on some of the other jump ropes out there, but they are still comfortable to use and give good grip. They are made from hollow plastic tubes with foam outer grips and rotating metal bearings where the rope enters as well as removable end plugs to access the ropes push-on nylon connectors to shorten it if needed. The jump rope is working well for me and seems to be holding up okay, so I think it was worth what I paid for it here on Amazon.

This is a very affordable model- yet plastic rope becomes very stiff and unusable in cold weather. Overall good performance in warm weather, especially as a back up or for travel.

I have been using this jump rope for about a year now (1-2 times a week for up to an hour at most). I skip underneath a pavilion that has a concrete floor. The jump rope seems to still be in great shape and I don't see it breaking any time soon. In contrast, I've had speed ropes break in about 6 months of use.The handles are a little short, but I was able to get used to them. This rope is also heavier than a speed rope, so I'd say it's nice for beginners. The biggest problem I have with this rope is that it tangles up easily. This makes side swings a little bit more difficult, but not too hard. I can still do crossovers, double-unders, and other tricks just fine with this rope.

Like others I got this because of the Wirecutter review and the low cost. You get what you pay for. No ball bearings means the rope continuously twists and it is too light to move through the air well. I can't believe Wirecutter recommended this product. Used it once and threw it away, complete waste of money.

I’ve purchased maybe 5 jump ropes on Amazon over the years. This is the best for exercising. The rope itself is a good weight and material, and the piece that allows you to adjust the length is good and does not interfere with jumping. The handles could be a bit longer, but that doesn’t bother much.

El producto no es el de las imágenes, ni la marca . Es una copia hechiza.

It was alright until it broke. Very cheap design, doesn't look like it's meant to last.

The quality of this jump rope was terrible. If I could I would give it 0 stars. It would become tangled after only 20 seconds of skipping so would necessitate frequent stopping and difficult to get into a flow. The rope itself was quite weak. I skipped on tiles for 5 minutes and there were deep scratches in the plastic sheath which contacted the floor. However the fact that the rope snapped off at the handle was what got me - only after 1 week of using it!!
