About this item

  • JVCC UHMW-PE-20 UHMW Polyethylene Film Tape is a 20 mil ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene film with an aggressive acrylic adhesive. Its high chemical and abrasion resistance and extremely low coefficient of friction makes this a versatile engineering material for many severe service applications.
  • Materials slide freely over tape surface with no slip/stick tendency. High impact strength and shock-absorbing properties. Outwears Teflon many times over and is a good replacement when high-temperature resistance is not a requirement.
  • Applications include: rub strips on conveyors; bearings and sliding surfaces; chutes and hopper liners; slide tape replacement on top of track saws, dead plates; wear pads; guide rails; tool tables and fences; furniture and drawer slides/runners. UHMW polyethylene tape is used primarily in automotive and mechanical applications.
  • Carrier/Backing: UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight) polyethylene film. Adhesive: acrylic. Wound on either a blue film or white paper release liner.
  • Thickness: 21.8 mils (carrier, adhesive) 1.8 mils (adhesive) 20 mils (carrier). Adhesion: 60 ounces per inch (to stainless steel test panel). Tensile Strength: 50 pounds per inch (longitudinal). Service/Operating Temperature: up to 300F. Elongation: 300%. Core: 3-inch diameter.

I used the tape to put in the bottom track of some wooden sliding doors I made. This stuff worked great and the door really slide smoothly with the tape. Tape really hasn't shown any wear after 5 months. It is a little thicker than normal tape like a thin plastic Teflon tape.

I restored peace in my old farm house! Old, hand made, drawers in hand made cabinets had no hardware or slides to ease the drawer movement. Worse, the drawer hole was very close tolerence, which normally meant total reconstruction to repair.Years of wood on wood friction, some wood painted, some not painted, made opening and closing the drawers a nightmare.I used rubbing alcohol to clean the rub marks, let it dry thouroughly, then used the peel and stick backing on this product to apply a full drawer length of it to both sides of the drawer bottom.Total success! The JVCC product stays stuck and 29 drawers slide in and out easily.Definitelly will be buying more of this stuff! I have 46 drawers in my workshop to fix. HOORAY!

I almost didn't buy this because of some of the negative reviews, but I then remembered many people do not prep their work before they apply tape. I am glad I bought it. I like that it is very thin and it is sticky. I cleaned my tools and wiped them down with alcohol and then applied the tape. It works great.

Used this to cover slides for Stanley organizer's on cabinet I built for wife's jewelry making hobby. Adhesive seems plenty strong, easy to cut with regular scissors and much slicker than expected. Very happy with this product and can see many other usages around the house and shop.

For sticking drawers that were hard to open and close. Works great and drawers operate very easy and smooth. Highly recommend.g

Bought to replace plastic strip on Festool track saw track. Festool replacement strip are $40. Read reviews stating works perfectly. Very wrong. Plastic is to hard for saw blade. When cutting first time with saw to zero the track. This plastic strip blow apart and shot all over shop. Removed and filed into trash can. Strip is also to narrow. Absolutely junk for Festool track saw. Buy the actual Festool replacement strip, but buy the longest 240mm model. Still $40 with left overs to spair.

Excellent product. We made some cabinet with sliding doors about 32" wide x 45"tall. Oak frames with a "paned" grid of 3/8 x 1/2 oak kumikos plus Shoji paper for a Japanese look. The doors slide wonderfully smoothly.

Item received as described. Installation was ez and adhesive was excellent. 70% contact since my track was not flat, but that was sufficient for item to work. Can't beat the 20 mil thickness, easier to work with.

I used this tape on my BMW car to stop the dry door seals creaking on the frame. It has good adhesion and is unobtrusive on a white car due to the translucent finish. It worked after several attempts to get the correct position. Not a cheap product but you get what you pay for.

Upcycled a 1950s chest of wooden drawers and the drawers needed a bit of a tug to open them. Used this on them and they positively float open now
