Took me longer than some said in the reviews. I’m very meticulous on items like this. I didn’t want extra holes or incorrect placement. I looked over the instructions and measured everything what seemed like a hundred times and made sure it was straight and started with the rear plate, predrilled holes and they were correct. Moved to the bigger size and had no problems. I used a 1/2†drill bit on the bed with no issues. I used the same bit on the frame (left rear bracket) but it didn’t work. Instructions say 17/32†and I didn’t have one readily available. No local stores had one to pick up either. I drilled 3/8†holes on the upper bolts holes on the other 3 brackets and used 3/8†bolts to suck the brackets flush to my frame and then welded them all to the frame instead of bolting them. Cleaned and painted the frame. I have a 2003 Silverado 2500 and I would get his kit for my next truck as well.

All of the components were very good quality and heavy duty. The problem comes in when you have to drill the frame, it is impossible to get a drill in the needed location. I had to order the custom built mounting brackets that bolt up to the factory provided threaded holes.

This product comes with knurled bolts for the frame brackets. I got all holes drilled, ran the wire through the frame and pulled the bolts through just to find out upon tightening that the threads on the knurled part of the bolt don't bite into the steel like they should. I have to now go out and buy new hardware.
