I do not climb rocks, but I do hike and bike. Lightweight helmets are my best friends; this helmet is ‘barely there’ light. The material in this helmet has EN12942 certification for materials used in making helmets for climbing. There is also a similar CE 1015 certification, which is a European Union certification. It has a rigid foam lining with an adjustable chin strap and a knob in the back to make further adjustments. There are slots for goggles and headlamps. This helmet does not sit right on my head and may run a little small. I can get it tight enough, but it still sits high on my head. It feels very awkward, and it is not really comfortable. I use it on short bike trips, but I don’t think I would use it for more rugged adventures.

Bike helmet light. Breathes very well. Not for tree work as advertised. Vent holes topside make it unsafe for falling debris. Chin strap is more like ribbon than strap material, not very comfortable to handle or wear. Color is...... idk.... if you're into it I guess. Ball cap fits nicely underneath. Ive used it multiple times but now I just keep it as a backup or for someone else who forgot a helmet. It works. Better for rock climbing than anything else. Back of the head protection is down nearly to the base of the head. Excellent in that regard. Torn on whether to give it 3 or 4 stars.

I ordered this climbing helmet in order to try and compare against the Petzl Boreo which is a sports climbing helmet too.Kailas helmet is surprisingly light and I mean it, you can barely feel it if not because of the chin strap. The suspension is well routed all around the head without being obstructive with ears and ratchet makes it a perfect fit with every click.I didn't see any padding using fabric which is good to stay away from absorbing sweet, all padding is a very soft and comfortable foam, easy to clean and disinfect. Also great for water sports if you decide to go river Kayaking, cave canyoning and every other scenario that includes water and humid environment. As a note Petzl helmet will include extra padding to replace after normal wear, not the case with the Kailas but this is not a show stopper.Helmet has a flashlight holder which is a must to work and climb in the dark. Also has a screw-in on the sides ear level if you want to add ear muffs mount.Price wise this helmet is in pair with Petzl but I have to recognize that Kailas is more eye appealing, far more comfortable. You can also consider and use this helmet as a bump protection when doing tree work or while working in the attic, etc.Very well recommended.

This thing is tiny as though it were made for a child. It also doesn't feel very substantial especially when compared to a brand name climbing helmet. Doesn't inspire confidence.

This helmet is so lightweight it feels like it would not be as sturdy as it needs to be. It also feels weird on: it feels like something hard, narrow, and long sitting on your head, rather than the comforting feel when other helmets cradle you. I have always been a Petzl Elios wearer and it definitely does not feel anything like that. It is easy to attached your light and it is super easy to adjust. The fasteners on the chin strap are very sturdy and the chin strap is very easy to adjust. The webbing is soft on the skin. The inner padding can be removed if you need to as it is attached with a very strong velcro. I will probably throw this in the back of my car in case of an emergency.

Embracing safety without compromising comfort, this helmet boasts a feather-light design and CE/EN certification. Admittedly, with my larger-than-life head, the fit teeters on the edge of snug, and the narrow profile might not suit everyone. However, the adjustable knob at the back comes to the rescue, providing a customized fit that ensures security without sacrificing comfort. One thoughtful feature is the set of clips designed to cradle a headlamp, adding a practical dimension to its functionality. This helmet isn't just a one-trick pony; it's poised to be my reliable companion across various outdoor escapades where head protection is non-negotiable.

I just used this for two days of climbing. It's much lighter than my current helmet and is comfortable. I can only assume it's as durable as advertised as I'm not going to test THAT. I'm happy to say this is my new daily helmet.

I have mixed feelings on this helmet. It's definitely lighter than my others, but not as comfortable. I attribute the comfort partly to the foam padding which is harder than I'm used to. The other part of the comfort issue is the fit isn't quite right and I'm not a fan of the retention/adjustment mechanism. I've been messing with the adjustments, but it just isn't the nice as my others. My other issue is the thickness of the plastic outer shell. Whereas my other helmets have a thick plastic shell, this is constructed like a bike helmet with a thin plastic covering. That's likely the lightweight feature this helmet boasts.Other thoughts: Given this helmet's price point is situated alongside top-tier name brands, I would look at other options and compare features before pulling the trigger.
