Product Description

Guitar Bridge Saddles

Fine tuners are ubiquitous in the string world.

Ease of tuning and getting to the most accurate pitch are the major benefits of these fine tuners.

Step 1

Step 1

You'll have to unscrew both the tuning and mounting screws off the tuners. You will have three parts as shown.

Step 2

Step 2

Place the base part containing the screw barrel (the part that the tuning screw goes into) into the one of the tailpiece holes from underneath as shown.

Then, take the circular mounting screw and fasten the base in place. Do not over tighten.

Step 3

Attach the tuning screw back into the base, but do not screw in all the way, leaving about half the threading in view.

Now you are ready to install your string type.

Step 4

If you are using ball-end fine tuners make sure that the ball is inserted vertically and not horizontally to prevent string fatigue against the tuner's metal edge.

I sell violins “on the side” and have several high level Eastman instruments that I’ve sold to my students who still needed fine tuners, so have purchased several sets of these and installed on the violins for them. They are nice looking tuners that have functioned very well. Most sets have been on a year or more now and still turning with ease. In about 5 sets, I’ve only had 1 tuner that did not work properly. I’m sure I could have returned or asked for a replacement, but had it sitting in my desk for a long period of time before installing so just didn’t worry about it. I’d recommend these for the ease of use and great price!

I'll admit I have a relatively cheap violin, but these worked for all four of my strings, and it was easy to install.

These look nice, but the adjustment screws are very stiff. Practically needed pliers to turn them. A tiny drop of sewing machine oil helped significantly, but needs relubrication every once in a while. Also needed to pry open the tines a little to fit the threaded ends of the strings.
