- To use this numbers-based kalimba book, you will want to mark the tune stickers on your kalimba. While most kalimbas will start on “1” and weave their way up the scale. While this is a sort of “paint by number” applied to music, the numbers have meaning: they are the degrees of the scale. That is, “1 - 2 - 3” is the same as “Do Re Mi.”

I am giving this instrument to a sister-in-law for Xmas. I thought she would enjoy playing it. She is very talented with other instruments so this may be more of a toy to her. I thought it would be something that would be easy to carry around and did not take the space that larger instruments do. The item came in great condition, in a decorative box. With a velvet bag, tools, and a songbook. The instrument is well made and attractive. I also ordered a second one for the young daughter of a friend. These are Xmas gifts so I don't have their opinions yet. I am mulling over getting one for myself, even though I have no musical skills myself.

I got this for my father-in-law who is not able to get out much. As he loves musical instruments & owns several guitars, a harmonica, accordion & mouth harp, I thought this was a great idea. Very fun. Nice mahogany craftsmanship & it comes with a nice case as well as a cloth bag & a tuning hammer. Well worth the money. I myself have already learned a song when I go over to visit weekly. I may just get one myself so we can jam.

I ordered two of these as gifts for the upcoming holidays.. So they haven’t been played. I did lightly play the tines and it had a nice sound. One Kalimba has a slight defect. The last tine on the right is crooked. I haven’t looked close enough yet to see If that tine can be shifted back to the appropriate position. I don’t know if they are easy to learn how to play.

This item was shipped very quickly and I was surprised at how much we got had a very decent price. It seems like a great instrument to play around with and to let younger kids learn on. I was extremely surprised at the quality of the case that it came in, it feels very secure.

The groves for the palm rest were missing for me. I don’t know how that will impact in longer run. But it’s misleading details from seller.

We LOVE this, everyone in the family can master a simple tune very quickly. Lovely calming sound, it looks really smart and the bag for storage is an added bonus. This is a gift for my nephew who’s grandpa plays the ukulele so I thought this would be the perfect thing to play together. A summer sound for them through the coming winterReally well made as well, it just feels quality and you’d never know it was less than £20! Bargain!
