It's difficult to get the hay in and out of the back section, and I have largely given up on trying to feed my chinchillas this way. However, it's a good size, and when we swapped to using small pet circular hay bales they sit in it quite nicely. So they're still in the cage, and seeing use, just not for the intended purpose.Also, don't buy for the bottles. Both of the ones I ordered leaked like crazy, and were unusable with Chinchillas (you can't let them get even a little wet). But it isn't what I bought it for, I just tried to use them when my main one broke, so not a factor in my rating.

Feeding dish itself is very sturdy and a good material but the cage screws were not included. The metal grate does not stay in place on its own since either the container is too wide or the grate is not wide enough. Very unfortunate.

Some animals (chinchillas, gpigs, hamsters) can, and have, gotten their legs stuck in grates like this, but it is removable if you just want to use it as a one sectioned item. Seems sturdy and well made, but unfortunately he didn't like it. It took up too much space on his shelf once I attached it...not the item's fault, though! The only other comment I have is that the white one kind of resembles a urinal.

I love that you can have pellets and hay in one bowl. My bunny doesn't seem to eat much hay from the feeder, I think he may just need more time learning to pull through the wires.
