About this item

  • 【Imported AGC Glass】Variable nd filter made by importing AGC glass, first-class filter material balancing the color batter, with no color cast and no effect for the image clarity and sharpness.
  • 【Self-Lock Frame, No 'X’ cross】Say goodbye to the "X" cross on images, K&F Concept utilizes cutting-edge technology to perfectly avoid the common "X" issue of variable nd filter on wide-angle and telephoto lenses.
  • 【NANOTEC】K&F Concept optical engineers developed multi-layer nanometer coatings (total of 28), waterproof, scratch-resistant, and anti-glaring, protecting the valued lens and presenting high-quality photos.
  • 【Ultra Slim Frame Avoid Vignetting】7.4mm Ultra-slim frame design utmost avoid the wide-angle vignetting (support 28mm focal length no vignetting). CNC-non-slip design helps install and remove the filter easily.
  • 【NOTE】This filter kit is compatible with all 55mm lenses. Please verify your camera's lens thread size before ordering. The number is always preceded by a "ø" (diameter) symbol. For the 55mm nd filter, the lens cap/hood size should be 58mm.

The darker version of this is utterly indispensible for LOG video with high ISOs forced by the camera, combined with fast lenses you'd like to open up for depth control/"bokeh". And only the wildly expensive PolarPro has a similar option. And while I suppose the PolarPro might be somehow better - I'm simply not rich enough to find out! In the meantime the K&F has served very well. I use this primarily on a Fuji X-T3 with f1.2 and f1.4 prime lenses, shooting F-LOG at the required minimum 640 ISO. Secondarily on a Fuji X-H1 (800 ISO LOG!) and even a Nikon D750 for occasional stills.** Hey K&F! Do you read reviews? I wish you offered the dark version in smaller diameters (e.g. 62mm) as I'd get another to use with the majority of my prime lenses with no step-up ring. **

This filter will really up my photography! Some landscapes near me can be very bright and I needed a filter to adjust the brightness from the camera with ease. It comes in a nice case and the lens is constructed very well. To install, just screw it onto the lens. You can move the front of the filter up and down to adjust how much neutral density to apply. It makes taking pictures so much easier!

Observations(1) ring twist too tight so end-up moving focus. Whole idea was to be able to add ND with ease and not having to re-adjust focus particularly at ND128 setting (8-stops)(2) While lens thread is 77mm, the front of the ND needs 82mm cap. No cap provide so an issue or remove ND after each shoot to protect it...it complicates adding/removing after shoot(3) while used on only few occasions, color shift noted on RAW pictures and needed PS correction .Need more testingIf you don't mind the above, a good ND variable filter

I don't normally write reviews but this item brought me so much joy I had to. One of my best purchases ever. Went on a hike to a waterfall and was able to get fantastic photos in midday sunlight. I get to eliminate my half a dozen other ND filters because this single filter does all that and much much more. One downside is it is too thick for my lens hood to fit over the filter. Doesn't matter. The convenience and performance vastly outweigh that downside.

You can spend a TON more on a "nicer" fader, or a set of multiple ND filters, but the quality from this is great, and since it's variable, you don't have to carry a bunch of filters around, just 1. This filter gets you 95% of the quality of higher end filters at 20% of the cost.

Did my first shoot using the K&B nd filter and what a differeence. The colors are more vivid. This variable filter works so well I;m just speechless. No X pattern as advertised. Super pleased with my choice.

I use this both in the studio to drop my F-stop, and for Video. Used it on professional shoots with my RED, and smaller shoots with my Fuji. Haven't pixel peeped it, but during my edits, I notice no desegregation or X. The best variable I've seen, and absolutely a steal for the price.
