I'm so glad I got this for my construction-obsessed 2.5 year old! At $25, this set comes with more sand than other similar-priced kits and is proper kinetic play sand. Most of the trucks are of surprisingly good quality, with great detail. I also really appreciate that the building molds have little line markings on the inside so that the buildings come out looking like brick buildings which I thought was a nice touch. This kit also comes with several shape molds like an airplane, train, etc which my son loves. IMO, using all the little plastic people and signs makes it too crowded and we could have done without having quite so many little plastic pieces. The plastic people are all faceless men with short hair, and we don't really use them, opting instead to use a variety of mini figurines from other toys. However, I DO really appreciate that one of the signs says something along the lines of "this is a work zone" instead of the ever-too-common and stereotypical "men working."The only major downside of this kit is the crane truck. It has a pully system made from thin string and constantly gets tangled. My toddler doesn't quite grasp the different knobs and how to maneuver the strings to raise and lower the crane. Since this is advertised as a toddler toy (though I do admit it says 36 months+) I feel the crane should be easier to operate. Both my husband and I struggle to untangle the strings once they get tangled and after only a couple hours of playing, we're now instructing our son to not use the knobs and just move the crane truck itself to play with it, which is less fun but is working okay for now with only minor bouts of toddler frustration.

I got this for my grandkids. They haven't played with it yet since they have so many toys from Christmas. I think I'll wait to break this out in the summer. I love that it has its own case to carry everything in it that seconds as the box for the sand. The vehicles are fairly strong which is good, but the extra pieces look pretty cheap. They won't mind, but I do!

My son is a little older than most kids that this set is suitable for, but he loves construction machines so I got him this and he loves it. The construction machines really load and unload the sand that it came with. Everything came in a suitcase like box made for easy carrying and on the go play. The toys are well made and the sand is like kinetic sand so it is less messy. We are very happy with these toys.

You can’t get more sand. That would have been a deal breaker if I would have realized that. It comes with 3 lbs. of great sand but I wanted 25 lbs. to put in an indoor sand box for my grandson’s 3rd. Birthday. Very disappointing. Other than that it’s a cute set. Would have given 5 stars.

This kit is amazing for my son. He loved construction toys and this kit has worked well for my liking. He played with this kit for almost 2 hours.
