I am a petite woman (4'11" in flip flops) and often for into children's size clothing. But with a woman's figure I was nervous about my hips fitting in the XL because my hips are the size advertised, and my waist is 2 inches larger, but I didn't know if that was before stretching the elastic.I'm glad I decided to get these because they do stretch and they fit me. I do get a little bulge in the front because I fill out the backside and go area more than most young boys.... And they were longer than my legs, but will work well with shoes on.I tried it on and before even turning it on I noticed how warm the inner fleece lining was. Very nice. I turned it on high and it took 5 min or so for me to really feel the heat, but it was very nice after that. Strangely I felt as though the warming zone advertised as on the calf didn't really get warm, but my lower shins up to my knees did. Not sure if the back one doesn't work, or if it's somewhere else, but I could feel the zones on the front and back of my waist, and the lower front legs.The battery pack plugs in in a cargo pocket on the left side. The pocket flap has no button or Velcro so it just kind of flaps, but that's not something that would keep me from wearing these if I'm cold.

I got my 10 year-old son a large. They fit fine. They help for sure when he's out in the snow, but if you're planning to stay out for quite some time (especially if you use them on high), you'll need backup battery packs (I find this typical of all heated clothing, so we've got spares).

Only the waist heats up. The legs are supposed to heat up as pictures show but they do not

First i can not believe a single review not yet has made mention of the ridiculously long crotch/rise on these!?!.......in what alternate universe does the crotch of childrens pants need to hang halway down to their knees? The rise is ridiculously long. Even being bundled with fleece pants on under them to see if that would help, it did not. Next the heating elements. They all work great accept the set on the back of calves. Not only did my daughter feel almost no warmth coming from them, but i myself put them on since im a tiny woman and felt almost nothing. All the other ones about roast you out of those puppys. So i dont know if its some sort of defect or what. But they are definately not functioning like the rest. The pants themselves are well made, feel super nice against the skin. If it werent for the crazy long crotch and the back calf heating elements being a bust id definately recommend for the price point. But until those are corrected i just cant do it at this time. Not for the current price point. Sorry guys......these are a no from me.
