The eight strips of fabric cover a good variety of natural and manmade textiles, and each strip is of good quality. I use these in my chemistry lab courses, and the reproducibility from batch to batch of fabric is great. I would recommend cutting them into individual swatches that are no less than a full inch wide (2.5 cm) because the weave is very easy to unravel. The easy unraveling was helpful for another class, though, where we were looking at fibers under a microscope. You get three yards of the fabric in each packet, so it's a good value.

It's definitely a test fabric sample, and I thought it would've came with instructions saying which fiber is located in each area on the fabric sample. There were no instructions and the seller didn't know and told me to contact the manufacturer who also couldn't tell me where any of the different fibers were located, which rendered it useless for my classroom lesson. I had to return it and buy a different one from a different seller that specifically said where each fiber was located.

I contacted the manufacturer and got the specs on the order and orientation of the different fabrics
