Easy to use: Preheat the barbecue weight on the grill, then place it on burgers, bacon, ham, grilled sandwiches, burgers, panini, pork ribs, corn tortillas, etc; Helps to evenly cook meat from both sides and speeds up cooking time.

Very Cool device. Have a larger one for years. Needed this for small fry pan and it's just the ticket.Good quality, heavy and looks great along with my other bacon press.

Love this to make smash burgers on the grill. Remember to spray with on stick spray if your meat has low fat content.

Haven't used it yet, which is the reason for 4 stars. If it turns out A-ok, 5 stars. So far, there's no issue. Like all cast iron, it has to be seasoned as soon as you get it or it will rust. The wooden handle is only a minor issue as 2 Phillips screws stand in the way. And everybody has at least an absolute basic kit that includes a flat head and Phillips screwdriver. If you don't, you are SO ill prepared. Remove the handle and season it as you would regular cast iron from thereon. Mine had zero issues. No rust or anything. Seasoning it tomorrow to get ahead of the curve. I'm not really sure about what all the fuss is except for those who received theirs with rust already on it. This is not rocket science; It's the basics of cast iron. It will always need to this to be done. If you wash it in water and soap, prepare to do this every time. I am not planning on using it for smash burgers but for soft corn tortilla stove prep for crisp tortilla. This should work just fine.

It’s the perfect size to saddle up on a hamburger ridin’ a small 7-inch skillet. Very nice. However, I found the cast iron material to be unusually “stinky†- much more so than unseasoned USA-made cast iron products such as those from Lodge. I could not scrub the smell away. Since I did not care to have my burgers infused with this bouquet of metal, I sealed the surfaces by seasoning them. How? I rubbed the iron with a light - almost dry - coat of safflower oil, and then heated on the stovetop for about an hour using a heat diffuser. Repeated three more times. (The wooden handle prevents using the traditional seasoning method in an oven, and I didn’t trust the screws.) It worked out fine. A note about care: as with all cast iron, Do NOT stick these in the dishwasher. Instead, gently wash by hand and immediately dry with a towel. Then massage the surfaces with a super-light coat of cooking oil. (Not the spray stuff.) As a final note, I would have preferred the USA-made Lodge brand with a traditional metal handle, but Lodge does not make one small enough.
