Many brands of denatured alcohol are 70% or less alcohol. That might work for cleaning, but I needed 95% or better pure denatured alcohol to dissolve shellac buttons for refinishing wood. The Kleen-Strip worked well.

I looked into many different brands before I settled on Kleen-Strip Green. It's got more ethanol (which is what actually dissolves shellac flakes), and less of the petrochemical "denaturing" agent(s). That makes it more "green", but also, makes it stink less. And it's *much* less expensive than pure ethanol, which would be ideal for dissolving shellac, but is exceedingly expensive and a pain in the bucket to even buy, since pure ethanol is basically a Controlled Substance. Mostly, I use KSG to dissolve shellac flakes, but it also is great for cleaning stainless steel prior to any etching or heat-coloring or so on, and has been great for what little finish-removal I've done. It's also been more economical for me to order it, than to have someone drive me miles and miles and miles to go try to buy it somewhere that charges more on top of the cost of getting there...

Per the material safety data sheet (MSDS) currently listed on the manufacturer's website, this product's ethanol content range can be anywhere from 80 - 100%. Since ethanol is a non-toxic renewable and biodegradable resource, it is a great choice for fondue fuel. I have used this brand for making fondue for over 3 years and have never been disappointed. It burns cleanly. This is an amazing product. I once contacted the manufacturer with a question/issue and was provided with stellar customer service.

I bought this for camping with my alcohol stove. It's denatured alcohol. It does the trick. I took off one star because it left soot on the bottom of my pot. The soot wiped off easily enough.- Burned hot and even, boiled my water as quickly as pure ethanol.- Leaves soot on cook wear.I think I'm spoiled because I used to have access to 100% ethanol which burned SUPER clean. If you can get your hands of the stuff I recommend it, there is zero soot buildup. This is cut with some methanol and other stuff and I think that is what makes it a bit dirty. I would have no qualms buying this again but would like to find something cleaner.

I bought a royal coffee maker and needed fuel for it. This was a recommendation on Amazon so I decided to try it out.It works perfectly. Very clean, no smell when it burns and no soot that I can see.My only issue is the cap. It's a pry off cap. While I completely understand WHY they put a pry off cap on a bottle of very flammable fluid, and I also appreciate this because I have small children, it also kinda creates a mess!Prying it off is kind of difficult (or at least for me it is, and it could just be me!) and I always end up spilling some. The only improvement I can see is maybe a squeeze type cap like they have on lighter fluids. It would make this much less likely to spill. That being said, it's not enough of a problem for me not to rate this 5 stars!

We use this alcohol for cleaning resin prints from our 3D printer. It does the job well, but it does have a funny smell as all alcohol items do. It’s not bad for the price, but you could probably find better deals if you searched. This was an easily available item for us, so it works. Would order again.

Summary: Great for alcohol stoves no weird smellsThe Good:- Easy to open- Easy to pour- No weird smells- Have used in my vargo triad and vargo decogon titanium stoves with no issues- No residue- Consistent flamesThe Bad:- Nothing bad about this product other then that I had to purchase it off of amazon, was unable to find this at a couple of smaller retailers and was unable to find itOther Thoughts: If I had the wit about me I would purchase Everclear 190 when I am in North Dakota or Wisconsin as that is guaranteed to not have any weird smells or residues. AND if the spirit moves you you can drink Everclear 190 while camping (mixed with something), whereas the denatured alcohol will make you sick.

Used this on my granite counters prior to re-sealing them. Works great! It leaves them looking shiner and gives them a little more depth.I also have a fairly large kitchen and I only used about half a can so it goes a long ways. Be sure to work in a ventilated space however, the precautions are not joking; the fumes can be a bit much when you're applying it to a large surface area like a counter.
