I bought this for my personal use at home when the lighting in my music studio can be dodgy. And because I'm never in pro situations I didn't need a super wide light. This one provides easily enough light to illuminate two sheets of standard size sheet music. The spillover light will partially illuminate a third page spread out, edge to edge. There is a two-position switch that has 'brightest' and steps down lightly to 'bright'. I will be using just 'bright' to save battery power. I also plan to use Ikea rechargeable AAA batteries and charger. Not much more except you do get a handy carry bag with the light and the switch works crisply. A solid buy, in my opinion.

One might wish for a wider coverage area but this light will be more than adequate 9 times out of 10, and it’s incredibly compact and lightweight - easy to carry. Battery power is ideal for intermittent use; if you use it every day, pay ten times as much and buy an Aria light.

Too small. Doesn't easily cover two pages of music, and the batteries are the smaller AAA, which don't last very long.

Needed a light on my K&M nickel music stand. Ordered the 12247 with 8 leds. Clamping force is great, I can clamp it on the nickel stand with no issues.Drawback is that it doesn't entirely light up 2 pages without adjusting the light. For practicing no issue, but if you are dependent on it during performance I would pick a wider version.
