My car: 2004 Honda Accord, 2.4 i4 (LEV), 5 speed.I bought this to replace a cracked intake box.. they were roughly the same price when I priced it out, so I went ahead and got the "upgrade" since I would have to put in roughly the same amount of work. I can't honestly say if it gives more power or better fuel economy. I just reset my ecu, so only time will tell in that respect. The sound is great, especially in second and third gear. Below are the issues I ran into.1. My particular vehicle doesn't have a MAF sensor, but it does have an IAT (intake air temperature) sensor. I didn't need a CARB certified kit, but I decided to go with it just in case I move. This kit is made for SULEV, which means it has a slot for the MAF, but not the IAT sensor. To remedy this situation, you need to be willing to fabricate this pretty piece of tubing. To block the MAF hole, cut out a roughly 2"x2" piece of aluminum, make a template to transfer the screw holes, and drill the holes out. Very easy if you know what you're doing. After that, take some silicon gasket maker to seal the gap between the plate and the tube and let it dry.2. This kit doesn't have the IAT sensor slot. After I finished installing, I turned on the car and an immediate CEL came on with a code of P0113, which indicated I had not plugged my IAT back in. The car didn't idle weird and it drove normally. However, no one wants to ride around with a CEL all the time. To fix this, I drilled out a 1/2" hole (with sequentially bigger bits) right before the first bend (near the throttle body). It is best to spot the location beforehand so you can make sure the plug will reach the sensor. Then, file down any burrs on the inside and outside. Once the hole is smooth, place a fat rubber grommet into it, then take the sensor out of the old intake tube and push it into the grommet that is in the new intake tube. Be sure to clean out any shavings before you install this onto your throttle body! Listen for air leaks, and apply silicon gasket maker if necessary.I had everything lying around that I needed, so these modifications were no big deal to me. However, if you're looking for something purely bolt-on, you might want to choose the CAI version (it is more expensive).. I believe it has the IAT sensor hole and doesn't have a MAF hole. I'm pretty sure the issues I ran into are specific to the early model years of the 7th generation Accord. K&N does not mention anything in the instructions regarding any of this, so I hope this helps someone. The people saying that this doesn't fit their Accord are referring to these issues. The rest of the installation is easy and straightforward. This WILL fit your Accord, you just need to do some modification. Most people just don't want to drill holes into their brand new $200 intake tube.

I didn't dyno my car, so I can't give you any real numbers. And to be honest the only thing I can say about it is that it has a very nice sound. My throttle response improved too. Shortly after I replaced my lower intake manifold on my accord with an intake manifold off a tsx. The cold air intake in combination makes for great noise and nice throttle response. I couldn't tell you if it is actually any faster, but it livens up the car a little. I would definitely recommend it. I installed it myself, no problems. I have minimal car experience.

Received with prime shipping, fits perfectly in my 2005 Honda Accord EX Coupe.Pros:- Instructions are basic, but very precise (actual pictures of your car's specific engine bay)- Extra bolts and washers were provided- CARB Certified sticker was also provided (For when you get the vehicle smogged in California), along with two K&N 4 inch decals.First Impressions:- Check Engine light came on, until I realized I had not tightened the MAF sensor down far enough. This product shouldn't trip your light, so if it's on, check all hoses and screws.- Started the car, sounded normal except for a slight sucking noise in the garage.- Drove it out of the driveway, and gave it a little throttle.. and it sounds fantastic. Faster throttle response, and a really throaty noise when accelerating in all gears (my EX is an automatic). Paired with a performance muffler or exhaust, this piece adds a great growl to our tine 2.4L i4.- Too early to tell if there is an MPG change or HP buff, although all the paperwork and dyno charts show an average increase of 8+ HP.Cons- Not a con of mine, but know that this mod does add a lot of noise while driving. If you like quiet rides from inside your car, this part isn't for you.- Maybe your neighbors won't like you as much as you drive around the block with your 2.4L i4 sounding like a turbocharger.

The installation is fairly straightfoward. The kit was missing 2 screws. I called K&N and they shipped it out in a day or two. The instructions included were very detailed but the pictures did the trick and really made it easier. It's just a bit difficult to match what you see in the instructional pictures and what's under you own hood. It takes a minute or two to figure it out. I can tell that now get a more than a few more miles out of a tank of gas. Also there is a different sound when you rev the engine. It's low and mean but not very noticeable which is good. I don't want to have that rice rockety sound. Power-wise I noticed a bit more of a kick and a slightly quicker response time. All in all I would recommend this purchase and I would say it pays for itself in less than two years when you take into account the gas savings.

Took my friend and I about an hour and a half to install, allot was just getting the old one and it's various tools and mountings out. Parts look good and seem to have good quality, definitely makes the Intake much louder, and upon cold stars there's a hissing, but it's normal. Pedal feels a tad but more responsive, but you won't notice anything, like sound, until about 3000 rpm, and then it really screams. Two tubes had to be cut down as they were too big, and one of the mounting brackets (the one with the ground cable) is so hard we skipped it. Overall, I'd buy it again.
