Perfect size for basic maintenance, carrying around if you're a building maintenance person. Because of it's head size, you're able to grip small nuts to anything up to an inch wide. The soft handle also provides solid gripping comfort while squeezing hard. It seems to be a tad more bulky but I like the trade off for comfort. Solid construction yet light. Replaced having to carry a bunch of rachet sizes and heavy wrenches. Although it does not have a true rachet head, it's quite easy to release the handle slightly to continue and turn. Highly recommend.

March 1st 2017I bought these Pliers for work. Im a machinist and needed a small pair of pliers to do set ups. The non serrated jaws do not mar the work and fasteners but the best part is the incredible gripping force these things can apply. If you have ever had to use regular pliers to tighten a nut or bolt you know just how fast you can round off and destroy them. With these Knipex Pliers it is like having a wrench. It is adjustable for a wide verity of sizes far beyond a typical tool this size. I love Knipex tools which I have always found to be of the highest quality best tools on the market.

Haven't had a chance to use them yet, pretty much as expected. Good German quality. Everybody wants a review before you had a need to use stuff.

"Why do you need something that expensive?""Other tools that do the same are everywhere here""Do you ever use it?"-Basically all questions you can ignore if you need those bad enough just ONCE.I just used these for modifying the water-loop within my PC, and it basically turned an arduous slightly messy part-scratching back-aching 3 hour process into a forgettable 1 hour session with no damage to anything (including the pliers, despite friction/pressure against spiky parts) and no damage to my own hands either.Granted, I'm no expert in tools, but from my own experience those are the best pliers I've used for a specific grip size, and I have hopes that they'll survive to serve me well for the rest of my life.

I'm not sure if the 5" are actually knipex as I cannot find them on any competitors site. However they are really small and work the same as their bigger brother so I'll take it. My only negative (which may be a benefit to others) is the narrow jaws.Including US Quarter for scale as my jooch a** hands make them look even smaller.

I also have the 10 inch black version of these and I prefer the standard grip in those. I also have the 7" channel lock style knipex pliers in standard grip but I found the grip to be borderline too small (I have somewhat large hands). I wanted to get these in 6" and went with the ergo grip and its just about perfect. The 6" and 10" are a great combo and very underrated - I can do just about anything with those two. The smallest 5" would likely be getting too small and while the 7" or similar I am sure would be a good jack of all trades these work best when used in the middle of their range as opposed to the very ends.In summary I would say get the Ergo style grip for 7" and smaller sizes and regular grip for the larger sizes.

They don't "exactly" replace the crescent wrench and the channel lock pliers, but they do fill several of the roles of both and do it better than either of the others! Try them, you'll love them!

Can never go wrong with Knipex! Own several Knipex tools which is probably going to last a lifetime. A little bit on the smaller size but since I own the larger one too wanted to add the small one too to my arsenal.

The absolute best pliers to use for removing brake line tube nuts without using a crappy flare nut wrench. If you're concerned with preserving the plating, chrome, or finish on any restoration- these are the wrenches for you. This one is enough to remove most stubborn M10 or 3/16 size tube nuts and lines. The gripping power is immense, and the hardened jaws do not marr much- if at all- if you do happen to lose grip for a moment and slip while trying to loosen something.Well worth the "expensive" price if you're serious about restoration quality.
