Our Kohler faucet began leaking when turned "off". Fortunately I save he original paperwork and had a schematic and part number for the valve. I watched a You-tube video and realized replacing was simple. It's about as easy as changing batteries in a flashlight!! The old valve was hard-stuck to the metal collar and I had to band it loose with vice and hammer. Ruined the old valve but who cares? Re-assembly was a peach and entire job was less than ten minutes. Works like a brand new faucet!! Pays to buy an expensive faucet with replacement valve!!

This was the right part for the right problem. Been installed for months and no issues. Fit perfectly. Be sure to replace your rubber o-rings and plastic bearings at the same time with the other Kohler kit GP30420 and use the silicone that comes with that kit. This revitalized an old but beautiful Kitchen faucet that just needed some maintenance after so many years of hard service.

My Kohler Fairfax single-level faucet was feeling stiff and funky. It had to be this cartridge, and it was. Now it is silky smooth and I feel much better about things sink-wise as I replaced the side spray as well (another review). You can watch a certain video channel, You know it, and get instructions. Of course it isn't that easy taking apart an old faucet. This is how to do it:1. Pry out the hot/cold cap on top.2. Remove the screw (some may have allen screws, mine was Phillips). Careful as they can be stuck.3. Remove the lever assembly. It too can be stuck. Lift and kind of push back on it. If it is still stuck get a piece of wood, around 3/4 thick, push the lever down at the front and put the wood between the back of the lever dome thing and the ridge on the part below it. Lift up on the handle and the lever assembly will lever off.4. There is now a dome looking thing with the hole in the middle being where the top of the valve sticks out. Unscrew it. Mine was fairly easy, but some may stick. The IMPORTANT thing to do is to not let the body of the faucet turn as that will ruin the little hoses that screw into the faucet. You can buy them, but they are expensive and usually only available on-line. You can try penetrating oil or perhaps a hair dryer, some sort of clever way to get ahold of things and unscrew it.5. Now there is a retainer that holds the valve in. It too can be stuck. Lift up the swiveling faucet and hold the bottom with a pipe wrench or arc joint pliers so that you can apply pretty strong pressure on that top nut. The bottom wrench should be on the skinny lower part, not up where the faucet parts rotates around.Again, DO NOT LET THE BODY PART ROTATE.6. Lift out the valve. It has a gasket on the bottom. Make sure the old one is out of the faucet. Sometimes they come off of the old valve and you don't want two gaskets. Drop the new one in. Note that there are two protrusions on the valve that fit into depressions in the valve.7. While the rotating faucet part is off, clean the surfaces and lube the O-rings with silicone lube. I suggest ordering the O-ring kit at the same time as the valve, cheap enough and it comes with the lube. The faucet will leak at its base if these seals are bad. The swiveling action will again be nice.If things are really stuck, take the faucet out and deal with it on a bench.Assembly is easier than taking apart old plumbing parts. You will have a nice, smooth faucet that was not cheap to buy, has parts available to fix it and can probably be kept going for decades. I have done all the above and it is exactly as good as new now.

So easy to install, just do it. No need for a plumber. This part was a perfect fit and dropped right in. All I had to do was remove a single screw.

I had no problem replacing this part on my Fairfax kitchen faucet, and it works great. This is the second time I've had to replace this part in ten years though.

This replacement part was incredibly easy to install. When I purchased the part, the GP30420 O-ring set was "recommended" as an item to combine with GP77548, so I bought it, too. However, that O-ring set is for kitchen faucets, not bathroom faucets. I see that the description of the O-ring kit has since been updated.I bought two of these valves for two bathroom sinks and both were a simple installation taking fewer than 15 minutes total. I set the new valves in the same way the old ones came out, but you can adjust the settings if you need to. My faucet set was leaking around the base of the handle and now there's no more leak. Success!

Pro tip: if your faucet is leaking, buy GP30420 Seal Kit at the same time and replace the bushings and o-rings in that kit first. You may not actually need to replace the valve and can return it or save it for when it inevitably goes bad.

Amazing product..fixed my tap ..I had thought will need to change the entire tap but it was so easy to fix the handle with this little thing. Watch a you tube video before you try to fix. It’s damn easy to follow the instructions shown in the video :)

Original Kohler and part as described. Delivered quickly. Unfortunately the part did not resolve my tap issue as it is probably linked to another issue.

Works great. I believe Kohler is discontinuing the Coralais kitchen faucets. This cartridge might work on other models.
