Got this for my neighbor in preparation for the coming hurricanes and it works great. I like the fact that the light on the receptacle cover will be lit if the associated breaker is closed and there is utility power at the panel. This is also kind of a safety issue for someone not familiar with electricity. This power box should be locked closed until required for backfeed, especially for anybody with small children, due to the exposed prongs under the cover.

This generator hookup receptical is well made of heavy guage metal. Better than I expected it to be. Knockouts are not precut. You need a hole punch or a big drill to make a hole for the wire clamp. other than that it is easy to install and wire up. Works good.

Easy to install. Like the built in light to tell you it's on. Knock outs could be better hard to remove. Had to drill it out.

The unit was easy to install to the outside of the garage. The lid doesn't fit that tightly to the base so have reservations about weatherproofing. A rubber seal would be an improvement. So far it is fine.

I used an 8 gauge wire and had an issue with the back plate that holds the wires in place. I ended up removing it and in the process broke it. Mentioned it to the seller and was told there is no more stock and was willing to return my money. I told them to keep the money as it was my own doing that caused it and it still works. I just made my own back plate.
