I love these notebooks, they are so cute and the perfect size for my use. They are thin and surprisingly durable, the paper quality is excellent, and I love the soft spiral.

These Japanese notebooks from KOKUYO are very comfortable to write in and I like the outer designs. The paper is high quality and they're not too big and not too small. The lines are very feint which is easy on the eyes so I recommend them to people who like to journal. :)

These are really fantastic and super cute. I wish B5 were a more common size this way, just glad that recently it's become much easier to find them. I really love Kokuyo paper. Among the really fountain pen friendly Japanese brands I feel like these are some of the most affordable. The paper is really smooth, not too much tactility, but shows fountain pen ink qualities like shading and sheening well. The thickness is such that bleed-through doesn't exist for me, and ghosting is minimal. The page count on these is great for a smaller notebook, perfect for a single subject. I do kind of wish they had more like a 6mm rule, as my writing tends to run on the small side, but that might just be a me-thing. That said I appreciate that the rule itself is really light, not too intrusive, doesn't quite have that composition notebook feel, and with the lines it's dot gridded, great for layouts and structure, but without being too intrusive or busy on the page.Overall quality and utility on this is fantastic. Sturdy without feeling too rigid, lays flat beautifully. Absolutely love these notebooks. Great price, super cute, no complaints.

I absolutely love Kokuyo Composition Notebooks. I originally got them a few years ago for my wife for school, to try to keep the weight of her backpack down while still having a dedicated notebook for each class. I took one out of the stack for myself, and it was love. The paper is almost unbelievably smooth, and it somehow feels... good to write on. You want to keep writing more. The dotted rule is amazing, since I like to draw and write in my notebooks. It provides lines to keep my writing straight while not interfering much with drawing. You will be amazed at how well the paper holds up to mixed media. I have done 10-20 passes with water and alcohol markers on the same spot without the paper starting to roll and tear. Even though there is some visibility on the reverse side, I have had no bleed through. Also does great with every fountain pen ink I have tried on it. We're talking as good as high end papers like Maruman Mnemosyne or Tomoe River. The notebooks are shorter, so you can fill up a notebook more often, which is very satisfying. The covers are always stylish and pleasant, and there are always special variants popping up, most of which are very cool. The new animal covers in these sets are cute, but completely passable still for a guy like me.Part of me feels kind of robbed that the comp notebooks we are given as kids are so bad. Maybe my whole experience with education and writing would have been different if I had these as a child. Probably not. But that's how good they are. My only complaint is that they don't make a blank page versions, but that is barely a complaint with the dotted rule being so good.I really can't say enough good about these notebooks. I am a habitual note and sketchbook buyer, because I am rarely ever happy with any given one, and these are the only constant in my rotation. Try one already! You won't regret it. These are great notebooks. The paper is smooth and thicker than most notebooks I own, and it takes pen, marker, and highlights well without any issue. The binding is really sturdy, and I really like how much more comfortable the soft rings are than hard rings. The perforation is clean and easy to tear. It's standard in most Japanese notebook brands I've found, but I really liked the dotted ruled lines. The designs are also super cute, and they look just like the photos. I didn't realize they were a thicker card stock cover, so that was a pleasant surprise.I have no complaints. These are just really solid, high quality notebooks, and the cute design makes them even better. Highly recommend.

First off, yes, these are adorable. What's even better is that they're not JUST adorable. The paper quality is fantastic -- a smooth paper with minimal ghosting (no bleedthrough with highlighters) and nice light lines. The lines have extra little dots on them so you can easily draw vertical lines with a ruler (or freehand, if that's your thing), or use them to easily indent your notes/outlines to make them more organized. (If you don't want to use the dots, they're subtle enough to ignore.) The binding is sturdy and lies flat. Best of all, even though I tend to avoid smooth paper because I'm left-handed and my favorite pens can smudge sometimes, I didn't have any problems using my go-to gel or rollerball.Fun designs, practical features, and great quality - it's no wonder these notebooks are so well loved among students in Japan and worldwide.
