Works very well. Outstanding fit and protects well as with all of the kolpin nroducts i own the quality is great. The case is not intended to be carried by hand. The. Handle is very poor

Very well manufactured. For the price you can’t go wrong. Very versatile. Use it on most any vehicle while hunting

I love the way it holds my rifle and scope secure. No more missed shots because the scop got banged on the side by side

I have a hard time understanding the high number of positive reviews.I guess if you have a .22 with a tiny scope, lever action or short barreled shotgun, these might be OK. But there is NO way this will work with a typical bolt action rifle and 44mm (or larger) objective scope.I tried 3 different deer rifles - Browning short action A bolt with 4-12x50mm A-line Swarovski, Sako short action Finnlight with 2.5-10x56mm Trijicon, and Steyr short action Prohunter II with Zeiss 2.5-10x50mm. NONE of these are big rifles. NONE are long action, heavy-barreled Sendero type guns. All are compact, lightweight deer rifles that are similar or smaller than probably 90% of bolt action rifles typically used for deer hunting… And NONE of them come close to fitting the L. No way. Absolutely impossible.Even the XL requires removal of the Kolpin liner and use of another soft gun case in the boot. (More $$ and complicates insertion and removal.) The thickness and geometry of the liner make it impossible to use. And even then, all soft cases won’t fit in the XL. Forget it if there are any side pockets, etc. A basic Bob Allen case is a very tight squeeze, with some maneuvering required for insertion and removal if I don’t take the sling off or carefully align it along the side of the rifle in the case first! What a joke!!If I hadn’t already installed the mounting bracket in my Ranger, I would’ve returned everything and gone with a pelican style hard case in the bed, or an inside roof mount. I spent more $$ for this system because I thought it would be the best and most secure solution. My mistake.Extremely poor design. There is no way the internal dimensions were ever considered or tested by Kolpin for its intended use. Extremely disappointed in the entire system. Hate that I was already committed and couldn’t go another route. I’m making it work with the more expensive XL and basic soft cases. What a waste of time and money. DON’T make the same mistake I did!

I've used this on my UTV to haul my 12ga with a field barrel, a Marlin M60, my Thompson Center Muzzleloader, my 30-06 with scope and my lever action Model 94 Win. All fit nicely and are protected by the inner liner. I also purchased the Kolpin bracket that fits in my Polaris UTV and the two work great together.

I will be adding this to my atv with a koplin universal mount and taking it moose hunting in October. At this time everything works and is as expected out of the box. I don't forsee any issues or negatives unless it falls apart or leaks from rain but I don't expect that to happen based on what I see

Keep your rifle safe and secure. I have a tikka t3x in 7mm rem mag and it just fits in there so make aure you check your rifle length before buying. The latch system is great.
