I bought this item for myself nine years ago and use it regularly (at least once a week). Its performance hasn’t diminished, it looks brand new, has a generous capacity for large garlic cloves (I only use regular garlic, not elephant), and cleans easily. I usually hand wash it as soon as I’m done with it so that nothing dries on but on the odd occasion I don’t get to it, it unfolds such that all areas can be cleaned with a small brush. Or just put it in the dishwasher! I love that it’s made entirely of steel. Like my other Kuhn Rikon products, this press is of great quality. Since my first purchase in 2015, I’ve gifted this garlic press three times. I know there are those who say you don’t need a press; you can simply mince by hand but this is a kitchen tool I wouldn’t go without!

We bought this after breaking multiple other name brand garlic presses. Near 15 years and it is still the BEST garlic press ever. Pressing the cloves is effortless and you can even put the whole clove with skin in it. It will separate the skin from the clove for you. Everything Kuhn Rikon makes is of the highest quality.

It's robust all-metal construction makes me feel this tool will last forever. And the relatively light pressure, compared to my last garlic press, means I'd recommend this to anyone. Lastly, it opens fully to allow quick cleaning of the screen and all parts of the press. Easy Yes to buy this thing.

I was on the fence about this purchase- I mean, it's expensive for a garlic press! However, we are really impressed with it. It feels great in the hand, requires almost no effort to press even a large clove, and is super easy to clean. If it were closer to $30 I'd give it five stars.

Let me start off by saying that I've broken the last two garlic presses that I've owned. Not through misuse, just by pressing garlic with them. The previous one was the same model as its predecessor, a popular model from one of the big box stores. I got about 6 months out of it, after 3 years with its predecessor. Both failed at the same place, because theyre made of of pot metal. So I decided I was going to buy one that was built to last, and after reading reviews, I went with this one. The garlic press gets used almost daily in my kitchen. While this unit isnt inexpensive, I believe this tool will outlive me. I does a great job of pressing garlic, as it cuts rather than forces the garlic through the holes. It is easy to clean as everything is stainless steel, though the manufacturer tells you to hand wash. Thats what I've done with it. I'm very pleased with this unit.

I’ve wanted to get this garlic press for a long time but put it off because I already have a garlic press from Pampered Chef that I’ve had for over 15 years that still works perfectly fine. My PC garlic press works wonderfully at pressing out unpeeled cloves for maximum extraction. However, it’s always been so hard to press the handles together, especially on larger cloves, and my grip isn’t as good as it used to be. So I went ahead and got this, figuring it wouldn’t hurt to have a second garlic press. This thing is gorgeous! It’s clearly a high quality stainless steel right up there with my All-Clad stainless steel cookware. It’s definitely very substantial. It was very easy to press the garlic through, even the larger cloves. I was surprised at how little force was needed, and I know it says it can go into the dishwasher, with hand washing recommended, however it’s easily cleaned with a quick rinse under the sink. One caveat though, while it says no need to peel the garlic cloves, I’ve found that it yields very little minced garlic if unpeeled and it tends to all stick to the exit holes instead of dropping into my mixing bowl. Peeled garlic yields much more and it all extracts out of the exit holes like it’s supposed to. So you’re going to want to peel the garlic beforehand.

I go through a lot of garlic presses.I cook every meal from fresh ingredients and that includes at least an entire bulb of garlic in every pan of meat.Garlic presses come to my house to be crushed into pieces and thrown in the trash.I've only used this three times but I am happy to say that despite its shortcomings, it's the best crusher I've ever used, and I didn't know it was possible to have a device that works this well in the kitchen. It is easy to use and durable.I recommend that you buy this without hesitation!There are two grievances, I list them more so you can understand them and decide if it works for you.The first is that it is very possible to pinch your hand badly. This device is intended to provide a ton of leverage but it's also low-profile meaning it does not take up a lot of space. You can see the safety/functionality trade-off here. I haven't pinched myself yet, but caution is necessary when I use it because I know at some point a big pinch is coming!The second complaint isn't so much a complaint, as discovering that I have to clean this in a new way than I'm used to. Every press I've had previously had one of those little stabbers which could reverse back, and push out the pulp which would make the rest of the cleaning quite simple. I can't do that with this one. There is no set of stabbers & you can see that the screen flips out, and it is intended for more than just garlic. It looks intended to be thoroughly cleaned for heavy use in many different ingredient situations. For example, I already crushed clementines and I found that it made it very easy to clean because it folded out. Cleaning will be a little more time consuming but you can subtract that extra time from the fact that I can crush my product literally ten times faster now.The final compliment I'd like to state is that there is no waste or leaking. I did not find that any of the product squished out the edges as I pressed down. Almost 100% of the product got crushed through the holes where it was supposed to go, and that is not something I've previously experienced. What a pleasure to NOT have to deal with scraping leaky bits. A real time saver.While I have only used this for a week I am confident to say that I am as pleased as can be the money spent, and I expect to own this for life. It's durable beyond anything I could expect.Buy it.Edit: I came back to add this piece of information to the review: I have crushed over 50 entire bulbs of garlic with this thing and it's as good as the day I bought it. I am very confident after several months of ownership that this is truly a workhorse and you need to have this in your kitchen. I'd also like to point out that after several months I have never once pinched myself.

Esta es la mejor prensa de ajo que he tenido. Me dieron uno hace unos años en los Estados Unidos y me enamoré de ella. Luego compré una prensa de ajo recomendada por Amazon (Amazon Choice) por la mitad del precio, lo que hace un buen trabajo pero no es nada comparado con este. Mi padre siempre me dijo de niño "Recibes lo que pagas", y esto es 100% cierto para esta prensa de ajo. Acabo de comprar otra y, a pesar del alto precio, sé que he hecho lo correcto. Es duradero, muy fácil de limpiar, funciona perfectamente sin esfuerzo en el ajo y también en el jengibre que las prensas de ajo más baratas no pueden manejar.

Wir hatten jahrelang eine Standard-Knoblauchpresse aus Aluminium. Hat ihren Dienst verrichtet und ich habe nicht weiter drüber nachgedacht, obwohl die Reinigung jedes mal ein Schmerz im Allerwertesten war und das Metall so matt und angelaufen war, dass es wie ein antiker Kellerfund aussah.Irgendwann ist das Teil dann (endlich) zerbrochen und ich wollte uns mal etwas besseres Gönnen. Letztendlich habe ich diese Knoblauchpresse bestellt und das einzige, was ich bereut habe, ist, dass unsere alte Presse nicht früher das zeitliche gesegnet hat ;)Sieht edel aus, liegt gut in der Hand, arbeitet sauber und lässt sich gut reinigen.
