I cannot speak highly enough of these reeds! If you think you might want to try a synthetic reed, Legere is the way to go. They are very consistent, responsive and feel like a cane reed. I play a Bass Clarinet European Cut size 2.5.

Legere continues to improve their reed designs. The "European Cut" is their finest offering, with sonorous tone on not just bass clarinet as this item, but in the same model for Bb and A clarinets. Consistent hardness, no wetting necessary, lasts and lasts. Experiment and pair it with the right mouthpiece (not necessarily the one that you've used with wood reeds), and you'll have a sweet sound that will have other players jealously asking you, "What's your setup?"

I should point out I'm an intermediate player and and improvement is to be expected. I've talked to some pros who tried synthetics and felt there wasn't an improvement in sound, perhaps even an unwanted change. One said the only advantage is saving some time in reed care. So for us beginners and intermediates, perhaps it will be a full jump up in sound. For a pro, the benefits don't seem to be in that department but rather in the time it saves.

Am splitting time on this reed with a competitor’s. This reed is good, but for me the depth of sound/tone is not always consistent across the playing spectrum. It’s not a “bad†reed, but IMO not quite 5 stars-worth.

Just received this product and played around with it. It works really well just like a normal reed does and has amazing resonance. It's extremely flexible to use. I purchased this to use for the marching band at my school. Also if your marching with a bass clarinet I highly HIGHLY recommend you get a Jazzlab saxholder pro neckstrap for your bass clarinet. My bass clarinet went from feeling like 20 pounds on my neck to feeling as light as a feather.Good luck bass clarinet players

I've played clarinet for 28 years, when I was younger, reeds never bothered me, in the last few years the cane reeds started irritating and I also seem to have a lot more moisture. Decided to try Legare after a friend told me about them, incredible, absolutely incredible. It plays instantly without pre-wetting, and doesn't soak up so much it needs replaced halfway through a concert!

My puppy managed to find my mouthpiece and reed and chewed on it… so i was forced to replace it after only 3 months… oh well,My fault should have closed my case better!Great reeds, an even sound and good from the low C to high up. I like these reeds. European cut seems wider than the others.

Znakomity stroik do klarnetu basowego. Gra się lekko, przyjemnie, stroik od razu reaguje na siłę zadęcia i gra się znakomicie stacatto. Bardzo polecam dla zaawansowanych amatorów czy muzyków orkiestr dętych.
