I am a soil blocking newbie. After seeing a few people recommend the Ladbrooke brand soil blockers, I decided to make the investment. I was not disappointed! My first round has been a success (minus my cat attempting to walk across them 🫠). I opted to use a high quality organic potting soil that I sifted through 1/4†hardware cloth to remove any larger chunks. It was rather easy. I have no doubt this will last a lifetime with proper care and cleaning. I’m excited to use less plastic as well as have healthier more robust transplants!Note regarding the seller: there was a one off issue when I ordered and my package didn’t ship on time. After requesting a refund from Amazon, I was looking at other options for ordering. Well a week later a package arrived on my doorstep. To my disbelief it was this soil blocker. Enclosed was a handwritten thank you note from the owner apologizing for the misstep and telling me to keep the soil blocker on them. Wow, just wow! It is rare you find this level of customer service yet alone someone owning up to human error and making it right. I’ll absolutely order from them again! Thank you!

I had been thinking about trying soil blocking for years, but was skeptical. I wish I’d tried it sooner. I couldn't be happier with this Ladbrooke soil blocker and the results I’ve had! I used potting soil that I mixed myself for general use, not soil blocking specifically and it was very easy and the blocks held together well. The soil blocker is very sturdy as it needs to be since you are exerting some force to press the soil into it. I’ve used it multiple times this season and it shows no signs of rust or any other deterioration. It is a very well made product and I’m glad that I went with the well known brand instead of going with a cheaper one. It seems that the key to the process is making sure your soil is wet enough, but that was also easy to get the hang of. My seedlings that were started in the soil blocks appear healthier than the ones that I used peat pellets for.

No issues, well made.... one season under our belt soil blocking, and these worked well.

For these soil blocks I just sifted potting soil, mixed in some myccorhizal, got everything quite wet, and pressed the soil blocker down repeatedly, scraping the bottom 1-2 times with a spatula before pressing out onto trays. I keep them moist by bottom watering to keep them from crumbling. The seedlings seem very happy!

I purchased this to replace another block maker I had. This has held up well after one season. No rusting and releases soil blocks well. Very happy with my purchase.

The Soil Block maker was easy to use. Took a few tries to get used to using it and had to adjust the wetness of our dirt mix, but after just a few minutes experiment time, we got going making over 1000 blocks in about 20 minutes.Plants were started the next day, and all our seeds germinated faster than expected.... Thanks for a simple, quality product. Saves money & time...

The plastic dibbles did not fit the holes in the holes, so I wasn’t able to use. I was very disappointed by the quality after reading so many good reviews.
