I initially struggled with getting my baby to latch on one side due to having a flat nipple. As a first time mother, it was extremely frustrating for the both of us. The LatchAssist really helped and eventually, she learned to accept that side without me having to use it. Great product! Would definitely recommend!

I was given one of these 4.5years ago when I had my middle child. I had trouble getting my first born to latch, baby NEVER latched. I saw lactation consultants and was adviced to pump and breastfeed, I ended up exclusively pumping for 1year because baby and I never learned to latch. At the hospital with my 2nd child the NICU nurse recommended and helped me use this, she gave me a lot of advice and guided me which I am extremely grateful for because I was able to nurse my child for almost 4years. I believe this tool made all the difference, also the guidance I received from the nurse.I just gave birth to my 3rd child last week. My milk was delayed due to blood loss, but I bought this tool and had it in my hospital bag. I am glad i did because when I asked at the hospital for a lactation consult and for this specific tool to see if it would help at all they had no idea what i was talking about. Also I never did see a lactation person, we were discharged and I was told to pump and supplement until my milk came in. We had follow up appointments with pediatricians, and have had 1 lactation consult who said I am having trouble properly latching baby. My nipples are so sore and painful everytime I nurse. Baby is just days old and because we have been supplementing. Baby has gotten used to bottles which I believe may be contributing to this latch issue.I will be going back to using this before EVERY nursing session until we can correct this latch issue. YouTube videos have been very informative and just as if not more helpful than the actual lactation specialist who only recommended us Dr.brown bottles and to try bigger flanges even though that isn't when I get nipple pain.I have the proper fittings for flanges, my problem is getting baby to latch correctly, my supply and bottle/nipple confusion. It just makes you realize how difficult it can be to breastfeed a newborn, I am even more grateful for the helpful NICU nurse after my 2nd baby. I didn't expect difficulty nursing after having done it for over 3years but this newborn phase is ROUGH. It is worth it when baby and mom both learn and feel comfortable and confident, with guidance, lots of patience and practice it does get easier and it's so worth it.This is a great tool for breastfeeding, I will continue to use this until we get this latch issue resolved.

I wish I had success with this like others have said about it saving their breastfeeding journey. Maybe my baby just isn’t interested in breastfeeding… however my issues arise with the product itself. Once the nipple is drawn out, it doesn’t really stay that way. I imagine if I could do it multiple times it would eventually stay out more, just like when pumping. However, when I use the product to draw out the nipple, milk also comes out. There’s a blocker in the handle but when I went to clean it, there was milk in there. So I definitely don’t like how it draws out milk and doesn’t let me nipple stay out long.

As a FTM nursing has been tricky and I was using a nipple shield and wanted to find a way to wean away from that and this has definitely helped. I’m able to get my nipple ready and even pull some milk to help my son get latched. So good I bought a second to keep in his diaper bag so I don’t have to worry about forgetting this at home. If you’re struggling to get baby to latch this is definitely worth a try!!

Purchased based on all the glowing reviews and thought this was the answer to my breastfeeding latch issues. Yeah no, this did absolutely nothing. Has practically no suction. And being from a good brand I figured it might be higher quality so I paid more for it. Total waste of money, such a sham

My first daughter never learned to breastfeed due to my flat nipples and the fact that she was given a pacifier in the hospital immediately after my c-section. We had a horrible time with nipple confusion and latching issues. I ended up pumping exclusively for 5 months in order to breastfeed her...So when I was pregnant for the second time I knew I had to plan ahead in order to get my second daughter to latch correctly. I found this product on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It was packed in my hospital bag and I tried it out immediately after my c-section (and this time the baby had NO pacifier!) and it helped us tremendously! It can be such a challenge for moms with flat inverted nipples to get their babies to latch. The Latch Assist is a MUST HAVE item for women with flat nipples. With my first daughter I tried everything, including nipple shields and shells, but the Latch Assist is the only tool that has really helped me.I still use it daily, although with less frequency now that my baby is 4 weeks old and latches on fabulously. I also have had very little nipple pain, they are not sore or damaged whatsoever. Many sources tell moms with flat nipples to try a breast pump in order to draw out the nipple before trying to get baby to latch. That didn't work well for me as the pump I have (Medela Pump In Style)made my nipple too large and also wasted milk and started my let down reflex before baby was ready! Other tips say to roll the nipple between your fingers and pull it out - but, um, OUCH! No thank you! The Latch Assist draws out my nipples and seems to shape them to a perfect size for my baby. Just be sure baby is ready to go because your nipple will flatten out again after several seconds. The Latch Assist applies a fairly strong suction, but you can control it yourself. When I first used it I did experience some discomfort, but after the initial engorgement goes away and you & your baby get used to breastfeeding it becomes easier and more comfortable to use. This product, in my opinion, is an absolute necessity for the breastfeeding mother with flat nipples!
