The Hydro Ace SP01 hydroponics is a complete (minus seeds) kit to get one started in this fascinating method of gardening.I've long had an interest in hydroponics but never found what I considered to be a large enough tank to cost basis kit to get started. This 5 liter, 14 pod tank is just the right size for me to actually grow plants in a meaningful way.This kit has enough grow medium pods and A, B compounds to do several cycles of planting.I decided to set this up in my bathroom as it having it's own light source it didn't really matter where and I would see it's daily progress last thing at night/first thing in the morning.The kit has a telescoping light head which floods the growth area quite well. The LEDs have two settings for optimal spectral needs of vegetables to houseplants.I decided to set up the kit for 6 pods as I wanted room to grow 3 types of lettuce and spinach as the first batch.The tank has a small circulator pump and comes with a piece of filter which did not properly fit over the intake due to poor design of the pump mount. I placed the filter as best as could be.The two small containers of nutrient compounds are needed to be mixed with pure water so I used distilled to make the solutions. I filled the tank with spring water and added the recommended amount of nutrients to have a full 5 liters.I used the included tweezers to place the seeds into the water saturated pods per the clear instructions. I then placed the pods into the holders and set them into the tank covering them with the little clear domes.Next step was to set the spectrum setting and timer. This uses a very basic timer so if you want to have a 12 hour on then off cycle you need to set the timer to start at the real time. In other words, if you want 8 AM to 8 PM you need to physically start the timer at 8 AM, no internal clock to set in advance. Wish it had a clock as I inadvertently started and stopped at different times of the day and threw off the cycle.As I was only using 6 pods I placed the extra pod domes into the holes to reduce evaporation.After about 4 days my lettuce seeds were germinating nicely. Spinach takes twice as long, but soon I could see the start of the germination.Aside from the few minuses of the non clock and pump filter, I am very happy with the kit so far.The lights are very bright and can telescope higher as the plants grow. The pump is extremely quiet as it cycles on and off for the prescribed periods. I can clearly see circulation and check the water level through the easy to read front tank window.Little sign posts are included to identify each pod. I used thermal labels which are easy to peel off for my next planting.Bottom line: Great little kit for what it costs, and if not for the minor negatives, would be 5 stars.

This instrument looks very nice. it is very easy to set up, just follow the instruction given. BTW, the customer service was really good. They shipped the item so fast and they replied to my message really fast. I just seeded some veggies to see how fast they can grow and will keep updating.Update: it works well for veggies growth. My lettuces grow fast and well and they don’t need much space. This product has different channels for the light and you can choose the channel based on your needs, which saves energy and money.

Convenient and easy to useThis hydroponic growing system has simplified my indoor gardening. The 5L water tank is sufficient, It reduces the trouble of frequent water addition, which is especially useful for people like me who are busy at work. The adjustable light panel helps me avoid overcrowding as my plants grow taller. My herb can be seen changing almost every day. So far, I’m loving it!
