This is a pair of magnets nominally 2 1/4" in diameter with a 1 1/4" hole in the middle of them. They are relatively strong and can hurt you if you are not careful. I can verify that with a blood blister I got on my thumb when I was playing with them and they clanged together catching some skin on my thumb between them! I don't think you will want to give these to your younger children to play with.These will be handy for cleaning up ferrous objects or debris (picture spilling a box of screws on the floor). I am using them for a particular use I had in mind when I ordered them. I have a couple of sets of steel shelves in my garage. I have mounted the magnets on the corner post of the steel shelves at two heights. I am using them to hold my limb loppers and pruning shears. They are perfect for this since the shelves have more steel than the tools, the limb loppers and pruning shears can be removed from the magnets without the magnets trying to come loose from the steel shelves.I am going to order a couple of more of these magnets for a similar application and also to make a magnetic pick-up on a stick that is useful for finding screws, driver bits, etc. that you drop in the grass or dirt. These are good quality and strong general purpose magnets that are limited only by your imagination in their use around the house or workshop.

This review is for Large Magnet - Grade 10 Big Magnets Heavy Duty, OD60 x ID32 x 10mm Strong Round Magnets, Ferrite Ring Magnets, Ceramic Circular Magnets for Industry Science, School, 2PCSThis item is 2 rings of a ferrite type material that measures about 2.35" OD, 1.25" ID and 0.40" thick. The surfaces are not shiny, with grind marks. The edges are squared. The magnetic force is moderately strong, sut not nearly as powerful as Neodymium magnets. I have no way to measure the magnetic flux, but I can separate these by hand with an estimated 30-40 pounds of force.I have not found any chart of magnet grades that list a "Grade 10", so I expect this is a marketing term and not a specification.Overall, these can be used for experiments and also for holding objects to ferrous surfaces. One must be somewhat careful due to the square edges being a pinch hazard. The material gives the impression of being brittle, so sudden shocks should be avoided.I am deducting one star because the magnets are not super strong and the square corners make them a little harder to use safely..That said, I have used these to hold large fabric curtains to a door frame and there are many other uses. They work well , if one is careful.

These magnets are strong and great to mess around with. Although they seem like they can break easily if you are not careful with them because of its strong force. So be gentle and everything will be good.Be sure to know what size you are getting, it says LARGE MAGNET but don't be surprised when it comes in and expect them to be huge if you don't know their sizes and come up with your own idea of large.I recommend and happy with these!

It’s a very strong magnet. Really not for kids. My son hurt his finger because the two magnets squeezed them together. He kept them but I think we should have returned them. He is 13 and said he will be more careful with them

I have a fun little project to do that requires two medium-sized strong magnets and these fit the bill perfectly. They are almost 2 ½†in diameter and almost ½†thick. They are fairly smoothly made with no significant burrs or sharp edges.These are considered Grade 10, which I have no reference for, but in my experience, they feel like good strong magnets. I really like that they are corrosion and rust-resistant and can handle high temperatures – not that I will use them in those conditions, but it just tells me they are made with quality. These magnets are perfect for my use.

These magnets are definitely not the, 'look out or smash your fingers when they meet, kind of power,' but they are proficient at holding a good-sized stack of papers intact, to a metallic surface, or will ensure several pages of coupons, or receipts will not be lost inadvertently, in a shuffled pile of papers. They would also be entirely useful for certain craft-type projects. I am sure that I can come up with many different purposes for their use as well. The key is just having them around for those key moments when such a need tends to arise out of the blue.I have a metal clipboard that necessitates my study notes or sermon notes not get lost, so one of these magnets will also be employed on my metal clipboard, to retain notes against getting lost or misplaced in the shuffle of life.With that in mind, I would definitely recommend these magnets for those who have any need for some quite powerful magnets, and who doesn't have use for a couple of magnets? If you don't now, you likely will soon.Again, these are to me, the right measurement of power. Again, they are not the kind that have that, 'smash your fingers,' kind of power. In spite of that, I would still refrain from allowing younger children to play with them, as they could indeed hurt the small unsuspecting fingers of a youngster. I recommend these. They are the right power for so many practical household uses.
